To pass the time until my rookie drafts begin as well as the NFL draft, I figured, why not create a new league?
I get the most enjoyment playing in Total Points, Best Ball leagues.
The premise behind generating a league like this is one: it removes as much luck from the equation as possible which allows us to annually test each other who can build and maintain the best roster.
The second reason is that this game we love is quickly being ruined by bad beats and incorrect Start/Sit decisions - I just want to watch the games and enjoy it without having to hope for an injury to a player I don't own, just to win the weekly matchup.
Basic rules:
12-man, non-IDP
.5-PPR scoring (4 point passing TDs and decimal scoring)
Best Ball format - MFL will take your best possible lineup on a weekly basis, based on who is on your active roster (doesn't include players on your Taxi Squad).
Total Points Format - MFL will accrue your total points through the season (as opposed to H2H) and payouts are determined by order of finish
24 man rosters with a 6 man Taxi Squad
Slow Auction Draft Dispersal - After a bid has remained unchanged for 24 consecutive hours, the player is won.
Draft to begin ASAP...a.k.a. whenever this is full, we'll start a week or two later.
Buy-in $40 and Leaguesafe used to hold all funds
2015 (and beyond) Rookie Draft will be 5 rounds
Weekly FAAB Waivers: Tues - Wed; Thur - Sat; FCFS Waivers: Sat - Sunday
This link will also provide some insight to those interested in some more information (it's of another startup I'm doing, and will have 99% similar rules, but the draft will start in late May as opposed to late March). http://www16.myfantasyleague.com/2014/home/53091#0

Questions welcomed.
By popular demand/majority rule, I'm changing this to an auction, instead of a slow draft.
