I'm pinning my FF Super Bowl dreams on... (1 Viewer)

I'm in my league's Super Bowl. 4 point TD passes, blah blah blah.

Eli Manning against Carolina? No thanks. I'm winning in spite of starting him lately.

Favre against Seattle? You would think this would be fine, but Favre isn't lighting it up recently either.

So, that leaves Fitzpatrick at my beloved, horrible, horrible Browns!! :blackdot:

Anyone else getting stupid for their title game?

I went to the Brownies/Gals game earlier this season. Fitz didn't exactly light it up v. Cleveland and had like TD/2INT. Start Favre and don't look back. They are playing Seattle. I'd guess he'd be good for like 215/2/1.

Snow Wind in CLE. I think most people are starting CLE D because of Fitzpatrick. Good luck with that.

I'm starting to think having to reach for a viable fantasy Super Bowl starter is better than choosing between two great options where the wrong decision can blow up in your face.

Case in point: Drew Brees at Detroit or Matt Cassel vs. Arizona. I must have changed my lineup a dozen times in two days and if it doesn't snow in Foxboro as it's expected to, I'll likely change it 100 more times before kickoff.

As of now, I've pencilled in FitzPatrcik to start at QB over Big Ben (@ Tenn). I assume that Cincy will score more points against Cleveland, while the Pitt D will shut down Tennesses thus not requiring big stats out of Ben.

Adverse weather may dictate a change in this approach, but that will wait until Sunday a.m. once the weather picture is better clarified.

Favre vs the 32nd ranked pass defense.
Favre the last 3 weeks...vs DEN 23/43 247yds 0td 1intvs SFF 20/31 137yds 0td 1intvs BUF 17/30 207yds 1td 2intNot exactly stifling defenses.
good point and he's flying across the countryhowever, Cleveland has been making some plays on defense lately as they have 12 picks in their last 5 games. I think Cleveland controls the clock with Lewis. Dorsey does enough to move the ball. 1 or 2 TO's for Cinci's offense could be deadly. I have a hard time thinking that Cincy D, who has been giving up 125 yds/gm, will contain Jamal. Ideal conditions for Dorsey the game manager who did not play bad against Philly

Im going with Eli in the bowl. I too have been winning with a QB but its either Eli or orton.

cleveland's pass defense is horrific. they have no pass rush whatsoever. they can get the occasional interception but they can be burned for a ton of yardage.

Is Dorsey better than Fitzpatrick? Cleveland has not had an offnsive TD in 5 weeks?
Dorsey is not better than Fitzpatrick. The post said "most people are starting CLE D..." not "most people are starting CLE QB...."Marion Barber helped me get the #1 seed but he'll be on my bench this week while I'll roll the dice with Deshaun Foster to go with MJD.

I'm pinning my FF Super Bowl dreams on..., Ryan Fitzpatrick?!?!?
Yeah i did that three years ago ( or however long ago it was when every St Louis QB was injured except Fitz ) and it didn't work out to well

The Bengals defense for part of this awful season has actually been pretty legit, so that could actually be a sneaky play. There has been only 2 RB's that have gone over 100 yds on them this year (CJ3 & Mewelde Moore). JLew didn't look spectacular v. Cincy earlier either.
don't get cute
Favre has the potential to throw for 5 TD's in any given week. Fitzpatrick's ceiling is 1 TD and not throwing a INT.Pretend it's Week 7 guys. Don't get cute because it's the championship game.
Don't forget Fitzpatrick can run for around 40 yds too!!!
