I'm playing Michael Turner over ___________ (1 Viewer)

I'm starting Turner alongside LT against the 49ers.

Sitting D Foster and K Jones (Maroney on bye).

:boxing: :boxing:

Double Charger Power!

Starting Turner in my flex position over Leon Washington, and WR's the likes of Engram, T.Taylor, J.Jure etc.

eta: nevermind, seems i got no choice as T.Taylor and J.Jure are on bye weeks :bag:

For me I'm strongly considering him over ronnie 3.3 YPG Brown.
Wow, it's strange to even consider this, but I could start him over either Kevin Jones or Warrick Dunn.
KJ and Brown have scored identical points in my league this year. And with Harrington now starting it looks like Brown is going to get less recieving yardage which has saved him from being a complete bust this year.Edit: Of course the Jets are horrible at stopping the run this year. 148.6 per game w/ 11 tds.

I am thinking about sitting Gore and starting Turner as well. Although in my PPR league, Gore may get a lot of catches late in the game. Any thoughts?

Gore does not have a bye this week  Either does Bush. This is week 6

I think a lot of us may be doing that ...I am starting him over Foster in one league, over Shockey in another ...
Foster will be sitting against the Ravens. Turner is in the lineup..

Ditto that here. starting him alongside LT, instead of Jamal Lewis.
Great minds think a like. I am in the exact situation and will strongly consider sitting JLew in favore of Turner. You know when the game is well in hand and they limit LT2's touches that Turner will be the clock killer. Turner = Garbage yards running out the clock.

Strongly considering sitting Dunn.
I'm considering the same thing. Dunn has been a bust over the last two playing weeks. I see Turner with 85 total yards and 1 TD. I see Dunn with around 70 total yards.

Which STARTING backs would you start Turner the Burner over this week?

I'm starting him over McGahee...

SA: traded for Manning & Turner

Gore: vs SD eek

Fred Taylor: bye week

Tatum: other starter

easy

turner over gore

oh enough already... i have him in my keeper and i'm still getting all turner-ed out from all this.

go ahead, start Turner over the 3rd best rusher playing against a team that allowed Chester Taylor 123 yards.

Well if people spent 1/2 as much time watching football as they did in "game threads" they would see how good he is. He's just exciting to watch. Fast and bruising. McGahee gets a ton of carries but only 1 TD to show for it. His YPC is also under 4. I'm not one of those guys that gets all nutty about YPC numbers but it's not like McGahee is a must start.

We know the San Diego formula. Lead with LT... Punish with their D... Sprinkle in the "River"(s)... DROP the "Gate"... and close with a "Burner".

Yeah, I get it. I stated in my league's forum that I thought Turner looked more impressive than LT this week.BUT, McGahee should be in the top 3-5 for production this week. Seriously hope you're fishing here. You're right, McGahee isnt a must start each week, I benched him for Jennings (flex) last week, but this is one matchup where you don't bench him.

Classic example of a fantasty stat person vs one that watches the NFL. The Vikings have the best run blocking line in the league! Taylor should be getting good numbers behind that line. If people can attribute an O-Line to Alexander's success or failures than the same arguments should be applied to every other back. Turner has looked excellent in every game he's played. We already know Marty likes to rest LT if they have a lead... THEY DO IT EVERY DAMN TIME. San Fran got shut out by KC for goodness sake. LT WILL run and catch all over San FranSan Diego D WILL DOMINATE San FranThe last Quarter and 1/2 will be the Tuner Show. Watch and enjoy

Tooo Bad the niners are going to shut down the run. Then we'll have to listen to everyone whine about how they started turner over ____.

ppl are talkin about starting him over warrick dunn??? sounds nuts to me ...
Dunn has 0 TDs this year and 99 rushing yards in his last two games. Expain to me why that's nuts.
First of all, I don't base who I play week to week from the two previous games.2nd of all, Turner has 1 TD this year and 102 yards the last two games. Not a big difference, so I'm not sure what you're getting at.Warrick Dunn has 2x the number of rushes that Turner has this year. He'll have more opportunity to rack up yards & score.Warrick Dunn has more fantasy points this year than Turner.Warrick Dunn's last two games have been terrible if you compare it to his average game (terms of rushes, yards, yards per carry) ... I don't see why you expect it to stay that way. Turner has been doing great with the chances he's been given, so unless you expect at least 10 rushes from Turner with at least 6 yards a carry, you're pretty much saying:Warrick Dunn floor = Michael Turner ceilingIt's possible that Turner outperforms Dunn, but not probable in my opinion. So I play Dunn.

 Capitol letters and (incorrect) insults sure do make for a credible post. Like I said, go ahead and bench McGahee. Not my team.

I didn't insult anybody. I just don't hold much stock in stats in the NFL. This isn't baseball.

Vegas line is currently SD -10. Do you pretend there is more than 50% chance the Chargers will win by 11+?

I'm considering starting him over D. Foster or Frank Gore.

I think I might go with Gore.
