I'm starting _________ over Alfred Morris week 5 and NOW 6 edition (1 Viewer)

Alfie's got Seattle at home so this matchup is horrific and of course, the receptions probably won't be there to save the day. Who's going in for you?

The writing is on the wall for me that Sankey breaks out against a weak Cleveland run D. Wiz is feeling the heat to play their #1 pick so away we go.

ETA: Week 6 is also in play now with a matchup @ Arizona's #3 ranked run defense.

I am in the exact same boat. Even though it's a risk, I'm seriously leaning toward starting Sankey this week in place of Morris.

Not only is Morris going against a stout defense, I can see the Redskins getting behind early and then Gruden will forget about the run and just pass, pass, pass. My prediction is actually that Helu will play lots of snaps out of a passing formation and in PPR leagues will actually gobble up lots of garbage time points via dump offs and draws. So, as a Skins fan, I hope I'm wrong but I think there's a good chance they try to run Morris early but then abandon it in the second half.

Anyone out there thinking of picking up Carolina's Reeves on the WW and plugging him in vs. Morris...or is that way out there? I mean, Reeves is the only healthy body there so at least he will get touches...

No way I'd start Carolina's 5th string RB over Alfred Morris playing healthy at home on a long week.

This is exactly the scenario I see playing out. It seems to happen a handful of times a year to Alf and since he's not involved in the passing game, it keeps him out of the first round RB conversation annually. I think his ceiling is 6-7 pts this week.

Reading the tea leaves, I think Sankey's floor is 6-7 with a possible breakout looming. I agree with the other poster, you can't go Reeve's IMO. There's too much volatility there.

I'd start just about anyone with the potential for 10-15 carries, reception upside and/or goal-line looks over Morris this week. I could easily see a game of 40-50 yards rushing, 0 receptions and 0 TDs for Morris this week.

For me, it's Vereen in PPR.

In the 1 dynasty league I have him in I have to start him. I'm starting Morris and Reaves with Sjax, Greene, Quizz and Mathews festering on my bench. :sadbanana:

I'd go SJax. Rushing production could be similar but SJax much better odds of catching at least 1 pass and I'd give him higher TD potential too.

Seattle isn't great on the road and Wash had the long week to prepare.
They've only played one road game so far this season so obviously this is an extremely small sample size but in that road game at San Diego, Mathews, Woodhead and Brown combined for 74 rushing yards on 26 carries (2.8 YPC). San Diego was playing from the front too so they had plenty of chances to keep running the ball. I'm not sure Washington will have that luxury, especially if Cousins starts chucking up INTs again.

Strongly considering Helu in a 1 pt ppr league over Morris due to the playing from behind scenario other posters have stated. 4-5 garbage time catches could be better than anything Alf has an opportunity to do.

Think I'm going with Tate if he plays. Tate floor looks like 80combined yards with 4catches atleast when morris's ceiling could only be 70 yards rushing.

Considering Chris Ivory who has consistently been getting 11 points a week. That said, if I start him, this will be the week he gets 6 points and Morris scores.

I would like to plug in Tate, but I see his floor as week 1, and that would suck.......
Isn't every RB's floor getting hurt?
Every player's (except a team defense).

But some are more likely than average to reach that floor any given week. Some such as Ben Tate.

But at any rate it's laughable to say that 80 yards is Ben Tate's floor when he is coming back into a three headed backfield and he hasn't had 80 yards all season.

Well #### me. :(

LMAO at any moron who sits this beast
:sadbanana:
Really, he has had 1 good week and that's it. I have this turd on multiple teams and he is costing me games every week. No more!!!
The turd is doing better than some other high drafted RBs, and with few carries. He had 91 yards rushing against Houston (on just 14 carries), 85 yards and 2 TDs against Jax, and 63 yards rushing & 27 receiving plus a TD against the Giants. He has only played 2 games where he has had over 14 carries.

Did he fumble last night? I must have missed it.
Yes he did but Washington recovered.

Sitting Morris against the Seahawks was the easiest call of the week. The only way you could've started him was if you didn't have any decent options at all. Even Helu significantly outplayed him in PPR.

So starting Khiry over him was a huge improvement and Sankey over him was a wash because I got Wizzenhunted on. It was a pretty predictable outcome for Alfie though. I expect better things against Arizona but maybe not much better. This thread will live on in week 6 because I will probably roll with Hillman or Oliver depending on which I get with the #2 WW selection.

I'm starting him as my RB1. I really don't have great options for my RB2 as it is (Martin, Rainey, Sproles, Crowell).

ETA: Oliver might be my RB2 if I can get him on WW)

I'm starting him again. Last week is the only BAD game he's had this season.

My only other reasonable option would be Doug Martin @ARI (also starting FJax and Bradshaw)

Last week I started "Skankey" over Morris and got burned, though, Morris wouldn't have got me much either.

I've got a series of guys that I was just "waiting on" -- McKinnon, Crowell and Cunningham. Of the three, the only one who might get significant carries is Cunningham, if Stacey sits. I'd think about it but Rams are playing San Fran and I can see them getting blanked.

I may have to bite the bullet and go with Morris, only because I do think they will try to feed him the ball as long as the game stays close. Gruden keeps saying he has to give Morris the ball.

IN the meantime, is anyone actually thinking of starting Cunningham vs. SF?

Martin is playing against Baltimore.
Which certainly factors into my current decision to start Morris, FJax, and Bradshaw

Does this game stay close if Palmer doesn't play then Morris could be a good play touch wise.
I think that's a good call. A close game and he could see lots of touches. I really do think Gruden wants to run the ball. But once they get behind, it's Helu all the way...

Thinking of starting Helu over Morris this week, short on RBs with JBell hurt and Pierre on bye.

Gotta roll with the Beast this week with Charles on a bye. A lot of the guys here don't like Morris because he isn't a flashy fantasy player but yet he posts some pretty decent numbers. Arguably low end rb1 numbers. Easily a strong rb2

I'm trying to buy low, even though I don't love him in PPR and believe Helu is more talented, the Skins still force feed him the ball so he'll be a solid player in the current RB landscape.

I think Helu is a better pass catcher, but Morris is a better runner.

I like Morris a lot. Unfortunately the Skins get behind often and abandon the run. Sometimes they abandon the run too soon. If Palmer is playing I may sit Morris, and play TY Hilton in his place. If Palmer isn't playing, I will probably start Morris.
