I'm starting __________ over Frank Gore this week (1 Viewer)

I think all Gore owners are a little concerned with the Jets matchup this week. I have a sneaky suspicion that Gore does well vs. the Jets. If Peyton Hillis can have a big day vs. NY, then I don't see a reason why Gore can't grind out 100 total yards and one TD.

Thoughts?

i've decided i'm going down with the ship.. i would rather lose with frank in my lineup than try to convince myself it was the right move to sub him out when he blows up on my bench.

I feel the same way. I have Warrick Dunn on my bench for the same reason. No way do I bench Gore in a fantasy playoff game unless he's hurt or the matchup is awful.

He has the chance to pop in a TD. I will never bench a guy like that. The Jets can be beat through the air and if the 49ers are able to get to the goal line then it is all Gore.

I have Gore in 2 leagues and will start him in the league I play in this week. I have a first round bye in my other but probably would have thought about Hillis over Gore if I had to play this week. I don't like the receptions Gore is missing out on lately. But I have gone this far with him and will keep in the starting lineup. For what it's worth, Denver was running against a lot of nickel looks because a lot of their run plays were coming out of 3 wr, 1 rb sets. that may have made it easier for Hillis to find seams in the defense.

 I agree with all of that. I just couldn't bench one of my best players because of a mediocre matchup.

As a biased fan who is 1) Starting Gore and 2) going against Gore...I think he'll show up and register some points but, not much.... Not that I have great options but, I'm not looking to sit my #1 pick at this point. Denver opened up the run with a great passing attack and the Jets for better or worse just stunk it up in the rain, while as a fan or anyone associated with the team it's not an excuse - for fantasy purposes and to judge a defense, I'd say the conditions weren't what you would see in SF and played a part last week. - I think they come back this week pretty pissed off about what Hillis did being the 1st 100 yard rusher all year and force SF to throw.

I have a tough one this week. Have Gore, Turner, Deangelo Williams, and LBJ. Start 3 and as of now Gore is on my bench but I normally change my mind about 4 times a week during playoffs.

Gore's a dud. With the exception of the Rams game he hasn't rushed for a touchdown in almost two months. He's only cracked 20 touches twice in that span. Guy throws up clunkers left and right but everyone's still swinging from his bag. It's not that he's terrible, he's decent. His team and on the other hand isn't.

Play Gore this weekend and suffer the consequences. Look for more reliable backs. I may start Neon Leon or Lendale in his place. Kevin Faulk will likely do more damage this weekend than this guy. Gore is their only weapon. Stop Gore and win the game. I think the Jet's can handle that task.

Gore has a tough matchup this weekend. Consider other options.

Im stuck with the decision to ride Gore, DWill, Hillis, CJ3. I can only start 2 of those. I will go with CJ3 but Gore vs NYJ, DWill vs Bucs, or Hillis vs. KC.

Bucs has given up a lil over 1K in yards and 1 TD to RBs

NYJ has given up 819 yds but 7 TDs

KC has given up 1800 yds and 18 TDs worst in the league.

As much as i love DWill lately and how much faith ive lost in Gore lately I'm seriously leaning toward Hillis. I agree with the assessment above about why Hillis ran so well vs the Jets. I think Gore is gonna get manhandled. They will make Shawn Hill beat them, not Gore.

Well now I am debating throwing Kevin (Every other week) Walter, Domenik Hixon, or Marques Colston in over him at my flex spot. I really don't like this matchup for Gore.

The Gore v. Jets debate is killing me.

Hillis had a fine game against the Jets, but I'm not sure how much that had to do with Cutler tearing it up and making the Jets back off to respect the pass. For comparison, the Jets destroyed the Titans running game, and Gore really hasn't done much of anything lately other than against the putird Rams where he was done by halftime.

I have other viable options CJ3/LenDale/Bush/P Thomas, but in the end I think I will probably pair Gore with CJ3. I think that Gore's floor this week is 80 total yards, and we all know he has significant upside potential.

The Jets lost @ Oakland this year, so I'm tempted to believe this game could very well be close keeping Gore actively invovled throughout.

Or maybe I'll just chicken out on Sunday morning and use the smash and dash combo vs. Cleveland.

I have the same debate and agonizing it as well. I could start either Gore or White or TO in the flex spot. I think LenDale will get a lot of garbage yards like last week, but it's too risky (I am already starting CJ). I think you have to roll with your studs and Gore should be fine. He knows he's had 2 horrible weeks in a row and he'll surprise us this weekend. My main concern is the lack of receiving yards in the last 4 games!

I've ridden Gore all year in my league but this week it almost certainly looks like bench time. Of course I had an insane draft at RB and will be starting Forte, Jacobs, and Hills in his stead. (MJD and Steven Jackson also miss the cut).

The problem with Gore is this is his score line for the 6 starts in my league where all TDs are 6 and you get a 1-point bonus for each 25 yards rushing (starting at 50) and a 1-point bonus for each 25 yards receiving (starting at 50):

Week 7: 1 point

Week 8: 3 points

Week 10: 2 points

Week 11: 15 points

Week 12: 0 points

Week 13: 1 point

He had 46 points in the first 6 weeks vs. only 22 in his last 6. Depending on your format and other options I just don't see Gore as a slam dunk at all this week.
