I'm starting Carlos Hyde over ______ against the Bears (1 Viewer)

Peeps Inc.

I think i'm going with him over Gerhart even if Toby is ready to play, also starting him over the likes of Ridley and Dunbar.

As a Bears fan i just think that this game will get outta hand quickly and we will be seeing a lot of Hyde in the second half. if the guy gets 12-15 carries against the Bears that could easily be 100 yards and a couple tds.

I'm not sure he's going to get 12-15 carries. I don't think SF runs away with it. I expect Cutler to be Cutler, 2 turnovers, but I don't think you'll see the s*** show you did in Dallas.

The Bills racked up 193 rushing yards on DA Bears. I'm thinking of starting Hyde

I think the exact opposite, cutler will crumble worse than romo last week.

play the SF RBs

Was only putting it out there that San Francisco had the game won after the first quarter and Hyde only got 7 carries.

It's hard to take too much away from that game since it was so strange- it was 21-3 and into the 2nd qtr. before any SF RB even touched the ball, and they ran so few plays on offense. I'm thinking it will be better for Hyde if it isn't such a ####show.

over T-Rich and Ridley, RB2 in 16 teamer
Yes

Ellington looked good, Dwyer was awful.

You're right, I completely forgot about that. I was just remember thinking in both the SF and Denver games that the offenses did nothing in the 2nd half.

Love Hyde this year, but I hate this split situation. I'd rather SF just run Gore hard until mid season and then bring in Hyde more, otherwise you are just trying to get the most out of 10 carries every week..

.75 PPR QRRWWWTF

There is a dead heat between Hyde, Smith Sr. and Marqise Lee for my flex spot

Probably going Smith until Flacco throws less than 50 times in a game

Once game does not a season make.

The Bears are nowhere near as bad as they looked against the Bills....and the 49ers offense is nowhere near as good as they looked against a dreadful Dallas defense.

SF wins, but it won't be a walkover. 24-20 sounds right.

This is where I'm at. When was he used against Dallas? If it was just garbage time he may not see much action in this one even if Chicago can't stop the run.

Steven Jackson or MJD for me possibly.

I like Hyde and have written about him quite a bit. However I think anything more than 12 carries is gravy.

It's worth noting that he is now the only other active RB for the 49ers. Dixon who vultured a few TDs as goalline back is now in Buffalo so Hyde will likely assume that role.

Curiously enough, I believe it was 2 years ago that Kaepernick had his coming out party at home against the Bears during a night game. With this being SF's first home opener in their new stadium, you'd think they want to really bring it. I'm cautiously projecting 12 carries 75 yds and a TD with 1 rec for 18 yds.

Hyde got his first touch in the niners 2nd series in the 2nd quarter. His 2nd touch was the TD. Note however that Frank Gore did not touch the ball until the 2nd quarter either. Hyde was peppered in and out in the 3rd and 4th quarters with one drive in the 4th where Gore and Hyde alternated plays to kill the clock. Gore was in for all 3 final runs where the niners iced it at the end/kneel down.

Maybe tap the brakes a bit in here. His time is coming. But 12 carries as his floor in the 2nd game? Don't see it.
You're right, right now I think 12 carries is more like his ceiling. However I don't think anyone is saying 12 is the floor, just saying that IF he manages to get that many carries it's not crazy to think that he winds up w decent stats.

Exactly! The Bills just ran all over them.

I'm starting both Gore/Ivory with Hyde in my flex over guys like Joique(CAR), Mathews(SEA), Hill(ATL). I think Hill gets 15+ touches this week against a crappy ATL front seven but I gotta go with Hyde. He looked fantastic and da Bears run defense is a sieve.

I'm not quite there. My starters are Murray and Lacy. With Lacy questionable, I currently have Mark Ingram in against the Browns, who the LeVeon Bell ran all over last week. Hyde would be the next in line...

Ya terrible matchups there. Looking back, stat wise, even though the Bears got torched against the run, it's interesting that no back rushed for more than 75 yds. Spiller lead with 15 carries behind 3.5 ypc. His day was saved by his lone TD between the 3.

Nobody. Stays on the bench. Starting Bell, Moreno and Morris over him. Although I'm also sitting Gerhart. I might start him over Gerhart right now if I had to, but not over those three...

I will say this, I'd start him over Matthews this week. Seattle's D scares the crap out of me...

you gotta go ingram against the browns, i'm running ingram out there in another league. Hoping for a few more carries this week, hopefully in some kill the clock time if they can be up late.

Reading about how much the Bears struggle with the zone/read option attack makes me think Hyde is a great bet this week. 100% of Hyde's 7 runs came from shotgun/read option whereas only 3 out of 16 carries for Gore came from the pistol.

If the niners go heavy on the read option (and I expect they will), Hyde is a lock for at least 10 carries.

Am I crazy to play him over shonne green or Jennings?
Since most people in this thread seem to think Hyde is a top 10 back this week, I'd consider starting him over Jennings, who has to run against Arizona this week. Greene is up against Dallas. I hate Greene, whenever I've had him on my team he has always been the LVP. But that matchup against Dallas and he is their starter... Everyone in Tennessee benefits this week

Is Gore hurt? Unless Hyde is starting I would bench him unless your other RBs are back-ups too. Then it depends on match-ups. Either way this sounds like ACF material.

started over Pierre Thomas - out scored by 2.5 points. If Kaep was a half decent option QB he would have given Hyde a shot at about 3-4 runs and 20+ yrd gain....
