I'm starting DeSean Jackson over ____ this week (1 Viewer)

I'm very close to doing this. Anyone else on the edge? Anyone else choose to do/do not this?

It's time to get this show on the road -- why not start week 1?

:lmao:

Anybody he outscores on my Subscriber team at WR. Otherwise, he's riding the pine till I see something. I just don't start rookie WR's week 1. For every Boldin there are 20 duds...I don't like the 5% chance of getting the Boldin...

Rams defense has looked suprisingly good thus far, and have heard pretty good things from a friend (son of coaching staff). Not sure if this week is the right time to take the gamble. Really like the kid, drafted in 2 different leagues...but I'd like to wait at least 1 week unless you just don't have a good option.

I'm starting Jackson as WR3 over the likes of Curry and Gage. Not that much risk though. I think that Jackson could already be a better option than these two...

I am thinking about starting him over Gates (no TE required in my league). I am admitedly an Eagle homer but I expect him to do well.

I am going to start Jackson at flex in a 1 PPR league over

Fred Taylor

Adrian Peterson(Chi)

Jerious Norwood

So not that big of a risk taken, I did have Taylor in there but he has not done too well against the Titans in the past. So I will take a chance with the rook. he has looked good all preseason long.

the last I read Baskett and Brown were starting. Has that changed?
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles...t_to_start.htmlRookie DeSean Jackson will be one of the starters at wide receiver when the Eagles open the season Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.

Jackson, a second-round draft choice out of California, will become the first Eagles rookie receiver to start on opening day in Andy Reid's 10 seasons as coach.....

... Reid was less forthcoming about who would see the majority of action at the receiver position opposite Jackson.

"We'll mix guys in there," the coach said.It also is unknown how Reggie Brown will fit in. Brown is the only health-related question mark for Sunday's game at Lincoln Financial Field.

This year, there may be 2. Jackson and Royal. At least the opportunity is there. Jackson could easily get 6 receptions and break a long one, or could easily get nothing.

anyone know how much TS Hannah will be affecting this game on Sunday? Looks like the forecast has it north of Philly by then, but i'm wondering about the winds

I can't quite bring myself to start him over Derrick Mason against a pitiful Cincy defense, but it's tempting.

its probably more of Flacco vs. McNabb than DM vs DJAs much as i love the fact that Flacco is getting the start (UD '99), i think he is going to struggle in an "Aikman rookie year" kind of way

starting him over Marvin Harrison.... Harrison needs to step on the field and show me some signs of life before I use him as my wr3

plus I will be at the Birds game wearing green!

Starting Jackson over Selvin Young and Anthony Gonzalez in one league - 1/2 ppr for wr and te

Starting Jackson over Anthony Gonzalez and Felix Jones in another league

Starting Jackson over Felix Jones, Matt Jones, Rashied Davis, and Steve Smith (nyg) - PPR LEAGUE

Starting Jackson over Chris Perry, Fred Taylor, Chester Taylor (starting Peterson MN), and Ahman Green - PPR LEAGUE

After the starter announcement, I'm very very close to starting him over Edge in a flex in a .5ppr league & kick return yardage league. Plus, my buddy I'm playing is a big Eagles fan, and it's almost worth it to me for him to be torn while he watches the game and Desean does well.

Someone told me to roll him out there in place of Ryan Grant in one of my leagues?? I think that's NUTS but hey, stranger things have been done.

FWIW--My league is 1 PPR for WR/TE and .5 PPR for RB's. So unless Grant gets in the endzone against the Vikings, a decent game from Jackson of 6-70 would net 13 points in my scoring system. Grant wont get near that unless he scores.

I don't know which is more astounding, that you'd be saying "Marvin Harrison has to prove himself before I start him over a rookie WR" Or that I agree. :goodposting:

Jackson seems quick and talented, but I have to believe that NFL safties are drooling for the opportunity to lay him out.

It will happen if he lines up outside regularly.

If league rewards return yards he is a very good option this week and as for the St. louis Rams D they are middle of the road and if Will sits out they will get punished by westbrook and that will open it up for Jackson to get single coverage with no saftey help!!!!

News Articles > Eagles | Jackson to stay at flanker while other WRs rotate

Published Sat Sep 6 4:36:43 p.m. ET 2008

(KFFL) Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid indicated rookie WR DeSean Jackson will stick at flanker, where he only needs to know one set of patterns and play responsibilities. WRs Hank Baskett, Greg Lewis and Jason Avant will rotate at the other receiver positions in Week 1. RBs Brian Westbrook and Lorenzo Booker are also expected to split wide a lot, with the team using the tight ends to also make some plays.

Why not put this information in your sig a well? It sure would be helpful and save you some keystrokes...

I live in Jersey and get all the Eagle games. Fraction Jackson looks like the real Bonafide deal. I going with F-Jacks over Reggie Brown (It is a 16 teamer where you play 2 WR's and 2 Flex)

Sometimes it's actually just as easy to use the few keystrokes to save others the need to read my sig. :excited: But I sure am glad I have people like you who are willing to waste their own time giving ME suggestions on how I can save MY time.

You can't hit what you can't touch.
He's quick, but NFL safties will definitely "touch" him. Remains to be seen if he will get back up. :football:
I wonder if they will put him in motion a lot? That's one way to defeat the jam. I know one thing, and that is that he had a lot of open space this preseason, and not all of it was against 2nd and 3rd stringers.
