I'm starting P.Holmes over _____________ this weekend (1 Viewer)

Because of injuries, Holmes over Gore, T. Henry. But I'm only expecting about 12/50 out of Holmes, even given Denver's Run D.

Kolby Smith over Steve Smith (the one who used to be good, not the one who was never good).

A guy in my league (who I play this week) is starting the Padre over Brandon Jacobs.

I told him that's a gutsy move...good luck with it.

:goodposting:

Was stoked over the following starting 5 in a 14 team league after successfully trading away my depth:

Westbrook

LJ

Wayne

Plax

Fitz

Of course injuries happen...

So I'm considering starting Kolby Smith over Fred Taylor/Kenton Keith.

we might find that its Kolby Smith over Priest Holmes..... I dont see how Priest can carry the load, or is he the future....

What a maroon!! :excited: :excited: :2cents:
He's actually intimidated by my team which is why he's taking the long shot gamble. This is an important division game, that he desperately needs to win.

I told him that it was gutsy and that I personally wouldn't do it, but that I hope it worked out for him.

I dig the guts. I wouldn't have the guts to do that.

If he can't carry the load then that would apply to the following week if his body can't recover quickly enough but I don't think it has anything to do with this week.

I'm starting Holmes over Ryan Grant, seems like Priest has a better chance to score than Grant does against Minny defense.

It also doesn't hurt that the person i'm going against has LJ

I'm thinking about starting him over MJD. Am I insane? with the amount of carries MJD has been getting lately i can't see him doing anything against Titans tough run D. Holmes might be good for 70-80 total yards, a td and a few catches.

Right now I have Holmes penciled in over Grant, Keith, Young and F. Taylor (Graham & A. Green on bye)

Starting K. Smith over Fred Taylor as my flex. Don't see Freddy getting much against big Al and the boys.

I just wish I could hear SOMETHING good about Kolby coming out of Chiefs practices. Even if its just fluff.

Benson should have a good matchup with Oakland, but regardless of who he has played he gets 50 yards and no TD's. I would imagine that if I bench him hw will score a couple times, but I am tired of getting 5 points from him. I really want to cut him so I stop playing him, but have not had the guts to do it yet.

Westbrook

Maroney bye

Priest

Selvin

so starting Priest over Selvin (may change my mind if THenry is inactive)

T. Henry

D. Foster if Moore is the QB

On the fence if Henry is out and Selvin plays, as I have to think the Broncos are pissed about their Detroit showing.

Not real confident on production from any other these options, so come on FWP...

I just picked Holmes up, putting LJ on my IR. If LJ comes back, I cut Holmes.

Talk about coming full circle. I had Holmes rostered during his hey day, helping me to a championship game. The year he got injured he was on someone elses roster and I was having an off year. I traded Leftwich to a playoff bound team desperatly in need of a QB...for LJ who was a cheap keeper at the time. LJ's run that year almost got me into the playoffs, and he helped me to a championship last year. Now, here I am picking up Holmes as LJ gets injured...

Holmes over Portis this week to start alongside Westbrook. Feels like destiny.

Anyone else?

It may be the water, Glock - Im starting Priest over Jamal Lewis - not liking that Pitt matchup.

That said, I have Portis in another league and I would definately go with Portis over Priest, personally.

A 34 year old guy that hasn't started in over a year and wasn't expected to play at all ever again vs a guy in his prime coming off a 190 yard game? I could see some folks playing him if they had fewer options, but there are very few RBs that should start over Portis.

I would only start Holmes in desperation. IMO he's a bad bye week filler at best. Like LJ, his best hope is to get a goal line carry based on pass interference in the end zone.

LJ owner here, so I've been pulling for KC. They just stink.

While Priest is definately very risky this week, he has at least a good chance for a TD, possibly more than one - you have to remember that they are going against a pretty poor run D.If you have a back with a terrible matchup, I think Priest is a viable risky move with upside.
