I'm starting Percy Harvin over.... (1 Viewer)

the dreaded "pitch count"
Just like Andre Brown last week. We have a tendency to hang on every tweet of info. now a days and call it a probable fact. My gut says they will get him at least a TD in some fashion and that's good enough for my WR3. Good luck to those who gamble with me.
Difference between Andre Brown and Percy Harvin is that the NY Giants had guys off the street filling in until Brown came back. Brown also broke his leg, which is much easier to come back from than a soft tissue/cartilage injury that required surgical intervention to repair.

Seattle is doing just fine in their passing game without Harvin, so they are not desperate to rush him back as the Giants were with Brown.

Good luck to all this week. I hope I'm wrong (a team starting him in my league needs a win to stay in the playoff hunt and I am hoping he can push out another guy that I am concerned about). Hopefully he does well and I get a lot of flack for my prediction!

Still haven't decided between Harvin and Douglas as my WR3.

Won't make the final decision until right before today's first kickoff.

Given how important the No. 1 seed is to the Seahawks (check out the home/road record with Wilson at QB)
You mean the Saints and Drew Brees right?

While it's true that Wilson has never lost at home, Wilson is 7-1 in his last 8 road games, Brees is 4-4.

Schefter reported Harvin would be on a "low pitch count" of about 15 plays. Not sure if that translates to number of snaps, but makese wonder if I need to swap in Nicks or Gates as my flex. Not liking my chances of winning this week....

That being said if he is targeted on 10/15 plays than yeah I'd roll with him.
Because that's realistic...

10 targets on 60 plays is pretty impressive. 10 out of 15 plays is almost impossible. After the 5th target you think the DC would figure it out that if Harvin is in the game, they are going to him, so double cover him?

Starting him over Torrey Smith because of the weather in Chicago. I overthink everything in fantasy football and week 11 is no time to stop doing that.

Unfortunately I really doubt "10-15 plays" means that many targets; much more likely he's on the field for that many plays and targeted on some of them.

My options at WR3 aren't great, but even so, I'm finding it really hard to start him. The honest truth is we just don't have any idea how he will do and whether he will be comfortable out there. As has been said, the difference between his situation and Andre Brown's is that the Giants desperately needed Brown to kickstart the running game, while Seattle is going to win this game with or without Harvin.

I'm just trying to gauge whether Boykin on the road vs the Giants is safer than the boom-and-very-possible bust play of Harvin this week.

Crap. Just saw this. I guess I'm back to Torrey Smith. Though Doug Baldwin is a really sneaky play...

Agh! Wanted to play him, but I just can't do it. Sitting him for Vereen or Steve Smith in my flex (depending on Vereen's activation status tomorrow).

Mortensen's starting Harvin in his league. Good enough for me.

ESanders to the pine, Percy to the lineup. CHOO-CHOO

I follow the Seahawks very closely watching every press conference. I think there's a chance that Harvin gets a lot out of a few touches, but it just "feels" like he won't get that many touches this week. If you do put Harvin in your lineup its a gamble that might just pay off.

although when the alternative is DHB it's less of a gamble and more of "can't be worse than that scrub".

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Percy Harvin's snaps will be "meaningful" Sunday against the Vikings, and the Seahawks will "make sure he has the ball in his hands."
Earlier reports indicated Harvin would only play 10-15 snaps. If he can get closer to 30 and see something like six targets with one or two in the red zone, we'd like his chances of paying dividends as a fantasy WR3. Harvin is shaping up as a boom-or-bust play this week. Unless we were loaded at receiver, we'd lean toward playing rather than sitting him in most instances.

So who's right? We have conflicting reports. Based on the earlier ones I was starting Decker over Harvin. Now with this one I'm on the fence about putting Harvin in over Decker since the latter has drawn a tough matchup vs. KC.

My exact same dilemna.

On one hand, I don't want to miss out on a Harvin blow up against his ex team. But if Douglas goes off and I lose because of it, I'll be kicking myself. I can't afford to lose any more games.

Oh well, guess I'll jump off that bridge when I get to it... In about 28 minutes.

Thanks !

I'm flying up for the Hawks/Saints MNF matchup in a few weeks - really excited about experiencing a game in that stadium in a crazy atmosphere.

I am starting him over E Sanders as a #3 WR....I wouldnt start him as a #2 unless no other options....held him all year so ready to reap some benefits!

I wanted to sit him but can't knowing that Minnesota defense is just terrible. (I think the AFLAC duck could coach the Vikings better than Leslie Frazer)

My other options are a hurt Tony Gonzalez, a hurt Michael Floyd (who has a questionable QB), or Rod Streater. Might as well roll the dice on the guy.

Y'know, the Hawks still have Marhsawn Lynch. I think it's going to be mostly him all day long. MN defense is awful, so there is no need for Harvin to be used that much.

Same here. IMO Douglas is the right decision. Harvin the more exciting one. I'm going with the latter but would be less than surprised if Douglas out performs.

Benching him for every WR on my roster. Cecil Shorts, Keenan Allen and Mike Wallace until I see how he does in one game. I don't like the idea he is going to see limited reps.

Odd thinking maybe but with a bye next week even more of a reason to limit Harvin and have him a full go the week after?

Yeah, went with Harvin. Vikings D is awfull. He could have two catches and still go over 100 and a TD. Douglass doesn't have that type of explosivness.

glta!

I don't think I've ever started and benched a player over and over and over on Sunday morning before today.

Can't do it. Rolling with Torrey Smith.

I think the motivation for SEA is to get him some hits to toughen him up without breaking him. They'll also try to get him in the end zone to get him rolling for the future and for opponents to have to game plan against him. No need to use him to win the game because they don't need him since they've got other weapons on off and def and it's not an opponent that they need to make a statement with. Harvin doesn't have motivation even against a former team. I expect medium points (TD, 4-5 rec/ 60 yds )so there are hopefully better options for you guys but if not then he'll have a high bottom side.

Went ahead and rolled with him over Fitz since Mort said the snaps would be meaningful. Made it seem like they are gonna try and get him some revenge. I don't think the Cards try to get Fitz meaningful touches. Lol

Yeah, because that's just what I do.
