This was my thought.Cat expert here. This isn't as crazy as it sounds. My mom loves cats so growing up they were always around, both inside and outside (small farm). She never paid anything for them. These cats are so hit and miss. Most were insane and just a few were awesome. A cat that doesn't freak out every few minutes is nice to have around.I'd pay good money for a cool cat.

sNow that that is out of the way...Maine Coons are pretty awesome cats. My brother gave me their cat when they had their first child, as it was 20+ pounds and liked to sleep on people's faces (his wife thought it might smother the baby.) He is a very cool cat though, although he scares easy for how big he is. Only downside is that he's a long-hair which means a large amount of fur, we have to clip it from time to time to help him keep certain areas clean, if you know what I mean, and he can get matted up in a hurry if he doesn't get brushed regularly.
