Preliminary reports are saying Jason Campbell will be out for the year. Rotoworld's already offering their take: "Downgrade the entire Raiders passing game going forward." I wanted your guys' thoughts. Moore, Ford, and Heyward-Bey have eaten alot of my waiver-wire dollars this year...

My thoughts:
-Boller and Campbell share similar profiles--both seen as game-manager types with a plus-arm, but inconsistent performance kept them from fulfilling their first-round potential. The liberal in me places the blame on their environment--systems and supporting casts. Run-minded/ball-control playbooks don't produce standout QB's. Neither does having perpetual mediocrity in your receiving core (Moss/Mason somewhat excluded).
-Wikipedia's entry on the Coryell system that Saunders is running says the "goal of the offense is to have at least two downfield, fast wide receivers (Ford/DHB) who adjust to the deep pass very well, combined with a sturdy pocket quarterback with a strong arm (Campbell/Boller)." Oakland's system and personnel provides a nurturing environment for their skill-sets to succeed.
My predictions for 2011:
-Heyward-bey is emerging as the go-to guy. With regular targets and big play ability, going forward I'd expect low-end WR2 production.
-Ford will be a regular 'what-the-heck-flex'/matchup type. He'll get 4-8 targets a game, maybe 50 yards, but always a threat for a home run play.
-Denarius Moore will be dropped in many leagues due to his minimal role in the gameplan with these healthy, emerging starters.
