Impact of Moore on Steve Smith CAR (1 Viewer)

Not interested in a poll. Would like to hear what everyone thinks about this. Jake has killed Smith this year. Moore has performed decently in the past given a chance and I understand that "they" say he has a good arm and is a good study.

There is no question that Matt Moore starting is not a negative for Steve Smith. It is either going to be neutral or positive the way I see it. Moore actually leaned on Smith the last time he started for the Panthers, so that is a positive thing as well. See weeks 15-17 in 2007...where Smith had decent production and got targets of 11, 15 & 8 in those games. That was 2 years ago, so it isn't so meaningful but it is evidence that a decent game for Smith is likely against a bad pass defense with Moore starting.

It can't hurt, LOL. You've got to wonder why Fox has been so reluctant to use Moore, though. I don't get it. It almost makes me think there's something behind the scenes going on, like maybe Moore doesn't put in the work or something. Kind of puzzling. Or maybe Fox just foolishly believed in Delhomme.

The good news is Moore has a much stronger arm & didn't embarrass himself when he played as a rookie in 2007. It'll be interesting to see how Moore does, & in turn, if Smith can get going.
