In Austin TX for a week - suggestions? (2 Viewers)

What really goes on at these sales conferences?  Hookers and blow right?  And resignations by email?
Hah.  Actually bigger worry is guys doing career limiting moves.  I don't care what you do at night. Just show up with your A game during the sessions, and don't get so lit you do something stupid in front of our CEO at the awards dinner. Had one chick get so drunk she was doing snow angels on the dance floor with her dress over her head.  That didn't end well for her.

Stiles Switch <----Another vote best after Franklin's.

If you have time....Taylor, Tx. -1. Davis Grocery 2. Louie Mueller 3. Taylor Cafe.

Thx

Henley mentioned he took the entire band and families to Louie Mueller's Thursday night. Said it was great. Crowd seemed to agree with his statement.

Franklin is worth the wait.

Homeslice on South Congress for pizza

Best day for me for a lunch cornhole is Thursday. I can get away at noon for an hour to 90 minutes. If Shuke, Cos or anyone else in the area is up for it let me know. Would be good to meet some more FBGs IRL. Staying downtown at the W as mentioned, so anything within walking distance would be great since somehow this progressive city doesn't have Uber. Let me know.

You have Dale Watson at Continental Club tonight - 10:15

Also one of my favorites Eric Lindell at Antones Wednesday night

Can't go tonight, but love Eric Lindell! I'm going to rush through team dinner and try to make that. Appreciate the heads up

This may have already been said, but do you know about Fare/Fasten/Ride Austin? They aren't as good as Uber/Lyft, but they generally work.

OK. What a week. Team dinner moved to 5:45. Will be at Antone's Wed night for Eric Lindell. $20 GA. Nice. Another cornhole possibility.

I can join lunch on Thursday. Uber/Lyft left Austin after the city required fingerprinting of drivers. Keep Austin Weird.

Cool. Shuke/Cos - you guys in? Others? Let's get a count and pick a spot. No BBQ. I'll be tapped out on brisket by then.

I'll have about 10 folks at Eric Lindell concert on Wednesday

Just got back from a weekend in Austin with some buddies. So tired.

Waited around 90 minutes for La Barbecue but it was fantastic. The brisket and link sausage both dynamite. Glad I tried it once but that line....does....not....move....quickly.....

Fado is a good Irish pub (mentioned earlier). Right around the corner, the Lavaca has talented bartenders. Frank has a great hot dog menu and for those who want to try Pappy, they sell a Pappy Van Winkle flight for $70.

Really enjoyed the vibe on Rainey St. Great little area to spend a night.

Highlight - went to a place called C-Boys (over by the Continental Club) to see Jimmie Vaughn play with an amazing Hammond B3 player. Cool club and the music was amazing for a $10 cover charge. I would repeat that experience any time.

I  Austin.

Had Franklin's for lunch. The ribs and sausage were good. Only so much you can do with those IMO. The brisket, however, was absolutely mind blowing. Exceeded the hype if that's possible. Have had lots of brisket and this is the best - by a big margin.

Some people will give me grief for this, but by the time you wait in line, you could drive out to driftwood. And byob at salt lick. Get the beef ribs. Lots of fun. Easy. Not nesrly as good as Franklin's, but you'll have a blast
:goodposting: Great place.  and recommended by locals too...

It really is remarkable

Antone's - what a cool club. Great vibe. Eric Lindell was awesome. We may be doing our Sales Conference in Austin more often. Like this place a lot.

Not the most ideal weather this week but it may be better than where you are coming from. Glad you have enjoyed the week. The biggest slam for having meetings/conferences here is it can be hard to get a direct flight in/out of Austin. But once you get here its great. Enjoy!
