In what round was Deangelo Williams drafted in your league? (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure I have seen a lower draft pick make such a large impact in our league. His owner rode him to a championship. Where did he go in your league and did his owner win a title?

I drafted him in the 6th then traded him to the guy I'm facing in the title game. I'm still up by one point but if he wins it will be because deangelo is having a monster game. Before the game Deangelo needed 100 yds and 3 TDs to beat me and I thought it couldn't be done. Now I'm sweating this game out.

That hurts as he now scored his 4th TD.

In my 10 team league I drafted him in like the 12 round.

I actually benched him today and started Pierre, LT, and Thomas Jones. Oops. Lol.

He's got to be the odds on favorite to be my keeper next year and give up a late draft pick.

2nd for me-I had a feeling
Suuuure ya did. I can't believe that for one second.
yeah.....and I took him at 1.2 because I knew he was going to be the #1 back this season :lmao:
Beleive what you wantADPDeangeloCAlvinKeepers were Cutler AJ and Steve Smith-the good oneIts been a good year
Well if true (still a big if) that's really poor drafting on your part as you could have gotten him much later.

With three keepers it amounted to a 5th round pick and based on my team i may have took him then if it were the late part of the round.

12 team redraft --- think I took him in the 6th, but I had him last year, and I'm kind of sentimental about my guys.

In one 12 team league, he was drafted in the tenth round (#118 overall) by the team who ended up going 7-6 while securing the #6 seed in the playoffs, and then proceeded to upset everyone en route to the title. Unreal. The guy's team is basically made up of Carolina Panthers (Williams, Smith, Delhomme) and Indianapolis Colts (Wayne, Clark, Vinatieri). Talk about getting hot at the right time.

In another 12 team league, I drafted Deangelo in the 14th round (#135 overall). Rode him to the championship. Thanks, D-Will.

I had to look this up this morning. The team that drafted DeAngelo grabbed him at 6:11, as it turns out that was a steal. What makes me sick is, I took Edgerrin James as my RB3 at 6:05  . What on earth was I thinking. I must have been drunk ;)

BTW, he rode DeAngelo to the Z60 Title.

5th round pick 7 by me...

when he started to heat up I shipped him for steve smith and roddy white...

who would have thought i would be regretting that decision.

Ok, I'll bite. You're in a keeper league with other humans and Peterson and Megatron were not kept?

In order to have keeper status a player must be drafted in round 8 or later. After you draft him you can keep him for 3 years. After the three years if you want to "resign" him it costs you a third rounder for an additional 3 year contract. Usualy works out pretty well as you can only keep 3 guys and makes for a lot of draft, trade, contract decisions during the season and the off season. So no they were not kept. While Smith AJ and the others drafted in round 8 or later their rookie years have been continually resigned.

only had him in 1 league.. My No Mecry League; remember that!!!

Took him @ 8.10, made up for taking Willis @ 2.01.

After going 0 - 3 thanks to Willis & Manning sucking, and Colston got hurt I started playing the little guy and a couple of other players picked it up as well. I ran throught the league and only lost 2 games after.

Snagged him in the 8th... Went with a very different draft strategy this year and it paid off big time...after going 16-0, winning the championship and setting a new league record for most points scored.. we also do a weekly prize for the top score.. I won that 13 out of 16 weeks... 12 team league, start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1D, 1K.. toughest part of the year was choosing my flex spot each week.

my draft...

1.10 Andre Johnson - Dont ask why, I just didnt like any of the backs available at 1.10

2.03 Drew Brees - Again, the backs didnt interest me, WR 1 was already covered, so I took Brees

3.10 Brandon Jacobs - Liked him here 3.10

4.03 Calvin Johnson - Nice complement to AJ as my WR2

5.10 Thomas Jones - Like what Farve was going to bring to NY, figured TJ would benefit greatly

6.03 Brandon Marshall - Was willing to deal with 2 game suspension, which was lowered to 1... a good value here

7.10 Dallas Clark - Thought he would be a top 3 TE...Gates/Witten/Gonzales went earlier in the round

8.03 Deangelo Williams - Steal of the draft.. was concered about Stewart, but felt DWil would great value here

9.10 Kurt Warner - At our draft, Leinart was still assumed the starter, Kurt was my big gamble, as I already had Brees

10.03 Roddy White - Liked Turner to open up the run game, which would help the passing game...

11.10 Derrick Ward - Insurance for the big guy...paid dividends when I needed

12.03 Owen Daniels - Good TE for the bye weeks... spot played him as well when Clark had tough matchups

13.10 Steve Slaton - Total gamble here, that paid off huge...

14.03 Ted Ginn - Decent fill, but I expected more this year

15.10 Eddie Royal - Insurance for Marshall, and figured I'd use him while Marshall was out

16.03 Stephen Gostowski - Liked NE to put up tons of points... he worked out well for me

17.10 Visanthe Shiancoe - Figured TVar would dump it off to his TE often...

Made a few trades/WW pickups during the season... got Thigpen in week 7, traded away Slaton/Roddy White for Boldin in Week 6... but mostly my draft let me steamroll my league this year...

so really it was nowhere near a second round pick in a regular draft

This is the only league I didn't win.......

We drafted the night D Will and Stewart lit up the Redskins in the preseason, and I took both of them because I was quietly watching the gamecenter updates on NFL.com. Probably took them in round 8 and 9

After week 4 I dropped D Will for Lav Coles because byes came up and I was already down Colston at WR

Sickening thing is that I held onto Jamal Lewis instead.

:goodposting: I'm assuming its true, but, wow... "I know you won your superbowl and hit on most all your picks, but, you had a poor draft -- you coulda got DeAngelo later." Lamest thing I've ever heard!

He went 6th round (8th round equivalent) in a 12 team, keep 2 league. Stewart was selected the round ahead of him. The D-Will owner is going to win the title in my league. He was actually trying to trade him at the deadline in early Nov. for a WR but no one wanted him. He ended up using D-Will instead of Addai in the playoffs so he is lucky he never made a trade.

Picked him up in the 12th round...12.04 to be exact...

Won the championship this year, but only needed 3 points from DWill to beat the highest scoring team in our league this year...here was the championship lineup...

QB - Shaun Hill SFO (could have gone with Thigpen; he would have put it away for me prior to DWills)

RB - DeAngelo Williams CAR

RB - DeShaun Foster SFO (could have gone with Ward or Choice)

WR - Larry Fitzgerald ARI

WR - Jerricho Cotchery NYJ (sat Holmes)

TE - Dallas Clark IND (way to come on in the final two weeks)

K - Ryan Longwell MIN (only five points the last two weeks)

DST - Titans DST (after struggling to decide to drop them or not, I went with them and glad I did)

I drafted J Stewart at 1.02 in the rookie draft and then traded the 2.13 and 2.14 rookie picks for DWIII.

In Fairness no-there were 15 legit 1st to 2nd round keepers so realistically he was a top to mid 3rd rounder for me

1.05

I think that year it went

1.01 Bush

1.02 Addai

1.03 White

1.04 Maroney

1.05 Williams

I was sure that Williams was the best back in that class. However I don't think the Bush Addai and White drafters can be too mad.

I saw a interview and Williams is a good kid, and I saw his last bowl game simply amazing player.

I took him in the 7th round of a 12 team 2 man keeper league, took Stewart 2 rounds earlier.

Had poor keepers and was out a first round pick from a championship run last season, so my team didn't even make the playoffs.

He went in the late 6th in my league (6.10)

I was gonna take him at 6.12 :goodposting:

The guy who drafted him traded him to the guy he's facing in the championship game this week.

The NEW DeAngelo owner needs about 40 from Orton to take the title.

40 yards or 40 points..if 40 points why even say it..its history then.

4.4 League drafts RB's heavy but I was able to trade Selvin for him after week 2. I have Stewart as well and Williams sat my bench but I am riding him to a championship now.
