Infinite New York football Giants (2025 same as it ever was) (2 Viewers)

He like Cam Ward should have just started from the very beginning. We saw exactly what he could do in the preseason games. The kid is special.

The QB isn't the problem. (Well, THIS year it might be). All you need to do is look at Indy for the proof of this. While I think Dart can play, the preseason features vanilla defenses and little game planning. The game against the Chiefs showed up how much creativity this coaching staff has when it comes to in game adjustments, finding ways to get players open. All against an obvious opening defensive gambit. That worked all game long... And the OLine still needs to protect and run block better.

I remain hopeful that the light will come back on, but the problem is farther back than the on-field switch. Need to go back to at least the panel at this point. If you get the analogy...

Throwing a rookie QB against one of the top Pass defenses in the NFL for 1st game ever with a terrible Oline and terrible coaching ... nobody would do that ...Right ?
Feelin of Impending doom

Based on the Giants saying they wanted to let Dart develop this season, I was suprised they had him at #2 on the depth chart to start the season.
If their goal was to develop him slowly, they should have had him #3 behind Winston.

But they didn't, so I hope the kid is ready

Probably shows how little faith they have in Winston winning games. With Daboll’s job on the line, guess he felt that if Russ can’t bridge the gap, they have to go with the rookie.

It shouldn't be about winning games, though, provided Mara has realistic expectations. Now they're going off-plan with Dart because of that, though, so like @Yenrub said, I hope he's ready because if he's not it can hurt his long term development. At least we will have more time to see if he can handle it because next year they should have a very early draft pick and this draft should be strong at QB.

Daniel Jones had 3 coaches and 2 GMs and they completely failed in every way. I'd like to see him do it longer, but he's playing so much better now than he ever did with the NYG, it's becoming increasingly clear where the main problems were. The only common person(s) here is Mara and the family. The NYG are the most nepotism based company I've ever heard of. Most of the people in the offices are a family member or a close friend of the family. Even the coaches and GMs have been people they know well or people from Belichick's coaching tree. It's time for a change, but unfortunately we're stuck with him. I'm so tired of this. It's been so long since there was anything to even root for, let alone be excited about. I get that some people are excited about Dart, but we've seen so much bad play and bad coaching that I can't get excited until I actually see some results at this point.

I hope it's not an ACL for Nabers. The team and especially Dart needs him.

Good win otherwise. Dart certainly brought some things that Wilson doesn't, like more/better overall energy, the ability/willingness to work the short and intermediate passing game, and the ability to run. However, he took a lot of hits so he needs to temper that running with learning how to protect himself better. He also needs to work on his accuracy on deep balls. For his 1st game, it was a good start. He definitely brought more to the table than Wilson.

If Dart keeps getting hit like he did, he isn't lasting the season. He tweaked his hammy, at least. They pulled him into the tent a number of plays too late. He had his world rocked on that one sack when the tackle took the inside rusher, letting the outside rusher get an unblocked. full speed hit on Dart that rocked his world. Dart got up trying to shake off the cob-webs.

I like the energy, but he has a lot of learning to do. Hopefully he can survive the learning curve behind a leaky OLine and WRs that seemed to struggle to get open.

It was a win. So: Go Team!

Dabolll needs to go now.
Dart is not the problem or the solution … they will probably need to draft a qb with their top 3 pick next draft
This team is an embarrassment

Special shout out to Hands of stone Slayton who picked the worst possible time to return to his old form
And the Defense who made Spencer Rattler look like prime Patrick Mahomes

Marra said he needed to be more patient
So he brought Schoen and Daboll back for another year
I've said this before, there's patience, and there's doing the same stupid thing over and over hoping for a different result
Marra did the stupid thing so we have the same result
Dump Schoen,Daboll and the entire inept coaching staff now to show the players you're finally serious about turning this mess around
Then let someone else find a GM who knows how to build from the inside out
And a coaching staff that can actually develop players
It's been Groundhog's Day for too long

If Dart doesn't learn, and soon, to pick up the blitz off the end they'll have to draft a replacement for Wilson or Winston... cause Dart is going to die on the field. This two straight games he's been CRUSHED off the edge. I am not he sure saw either one of them coming. He was dazed both times. He got up slowly, trying to make sure all his pieces were still attached.

This is a very undisciplined team.

If?!? I’m expecting a blood bath. Heavy dose of Barkley who is going to kill this defense. Hopefully the equipment manager will pack a spatula to scrape up Dart.

they better be fined 250k for the messing with the concussion protocol, there is no way Dart was probably checked and Brian Daboll had no business interfering/acting like he did

This Giants fan is feeling this is too little too late. The team is maddeningly inconsistent. Dart is going to quickly realize the truth behind Granville’s Not For Long if he doesn’t take care of himself better. 3 games, at least 2 trips to tent for concussion check. And if he didn’t go the third time, he probably should have. His luck will run out.

I think Daboll knows he is coaching for his life. I'm pretty sure that does not lead to long term good decision making.

I’d feel better if they hadn’t gift wrapped the saints win in a bow and prevailed with a historic performance vs the cowboys. But here we are.

At least they have been mostly watchable this season.

@Connor_J_Hughes
reports on the Giants going "big-game hunting" for a wide receiver before the NFL trade deadline:
Jacoby Meyers, Olave, Shaheed….AJ Brown?
Depends on the return
I look at what the Browns gave up for Jeudy and aI would gladly give up that for Olave , Brown or Jeudy

What ??? The Browns will send Denver a 2024 fifth- and sixth-round pick to complete the trade, sources said.

Why didnt we do that ??

5th and 6th I take any of those guys except Shaheed

That kicker better be walking home.

Hell, sign me. I promise you, I can make extra points. (Field Goals these days... maybe not. Extra points, no problem)

While you are at it, throw Daboll, who was chasing points way too early, and Shoen for his inability to find a kicker, out the plane door.

That hurt.

Not sure why they have so much trouble finding a competent kicker when it seems like everyone is hitting 50 yarders like it's nothing.
No excuse for blowing a 19 point lead

Silly me thought the defense turned a corner with that 4th down stop.

They sure do play some complimentary football…. It’s either all good or all crap. Nobody can stop the bleed.

This seems massively unwise.

Is he going to get hurt in warmups again and leave y'all high and dry? This really is a fool-me-twice or three times thing. I don't get it. He's good, but he's not available even close to enough. He's 38! He's not going to get healthier. I get he's got tons of range. The new rules about kicking balls are adding probably 4-5 yards to guys' ranges. At least.

"Giants Designate K Graham Gano For Return

Set to be the team’s kicker this week (per Daboll) if healthy, Gano has now missed 20 games since the 2023 season. The Giants placed their longtime kicker on IR in 2023 and ’24, with knee and hamstring injuries leading him off the 53-man roster. A groin malady sustained during pregame warmups in Week 3 sidelined Gano. All of these absences have come since Gano signed a three-year, $16.5MM extension. Despite the trouble staying healthy in 2023 and ’24, the 38-year-old specialist has remained the Giants’ preferred kicker." - ProFootballRumors

These idiots better roster 2 kickers for this game ! And neither better be named Jude McAtamney

You guys are really putting the cart before the horse. Giants' talent depth is mediocre at best. At many positions the starter gets hurt, the backup is below replacement. They'll need a successful draft patching holes and the guys gaining more experience before I'll say they're "good".

They scored 32 (should've been 35 pts) against the 1st-2nd best Defense in the NFL on the Road and lost because they didnt have a kicker, Beat the reigning Super Bowl Champs pretty handily, Beat a pretty Good Chargers team with an excellent QB, played tuff against Mahomes and the Chiefs, Lost with 30 seconds left vs Cowboys in Dallas on alast second 64 yd FG
Like other teams they have injuries (top 2 WRs) Center, Top CB, Top Safty, and best Olineman Thomas missed the 1st 2 or 3 Games of the Season

No Kicker, Terrible Def Coordinator, brutal schedule, Injuries at key positions and they have been more than competitive in alomost every game
They have a good roster (better than average) and very bad coaching
