Injury Report Question (1 Viewer)

So I know the NFL Betting Line...err...I mean Injury Report is released on Wednesday and again on Friday.

Theoretically Probable means most likely to play, Questionable is a 50/50 shot, DOUBTFUL and OUT pretty much mean the palyer isn't going to play.

However, this week I have read reports that Leftwich was downgraded to DOUBTFUL but when I checked the Friday injury report he was still listed as Questionable. Osi Umenyiora is also still listed as Questionable even thoguh I have heard reports that he will not play this weekend and might miss several weeks.

I assume that eventually situations like this are resolved byu a player being listed as inactive prior to game time, but what is the point of an Injury Report if it is not reflective of reality?

Injury Report has to be in by a certain time. To many teams, Wednesday is trivial but IIRC there used to be a Tuesday one too so..... Take Greg Jennings sprained ankle. RICE has done wonders and he's walking around with no limp. Dramatic improvement from Tuesday. The pack wouldn't have been lying BUT then there's time you wonder what a coach is up to.Saturday(Late friday's news) papers are read by most teams for the closest injury report. Some are members of Steve Cohen's site as listed there. Osi was Q, but in Coughlin's press conference late in the day, he said he was OUT.As long as you're aware of possible coach speak-I recommend reading the press conferences at each team's website and the blogger(let them get the newspaper news for ya) on Saturday. FF WW moves just have to be common sense unless you're the doc examining the player. Could Jennings play? Sure, but it was a sound move if you picked up Ruvell Martin. Just roll with it and don't let it frustrate you. The frustration (IMO)often makes people project words into a coach's mouth that aren't there. They try and twist words to make what they want to happen seem like it will. Sincere advice-just roll with it
