Innings pitched limits? (1 Viewer)

Just looked at the rules of my online league and realized that it has a 900 IP Minimum limit. Ive never done a league with this type of setup. I thought it was usually a max limit? Any thoughts on how to exploit this? Im currently WAAAY behind the pace of everyone else in IP the league. Doing great in ERA and WHIP, but near last in K's and W's.

Its not really something to exploit. It is actually a rule put in place to keep people from doing exactly what you're doing (Protecting ERA and WHIP by throwing way fewer innings than everyone else).

Yeah, what you're thinking is only for stupid H2H leagues.

In roto, you can't punt two categories (the min IP rule really isn't even necessary, imo). It's hard to win a league finishing in the bottom 3rd in even one category. It'd imagine it's extremely rare to do it finishing last in two (never personally seen anyone remotely come close).

Yeah, the min. IP in a regular roto league is unusual. As you mention, H2H league is where it is more popular.

If you see it for roto, you see the min. IP in contests with more than one league (like NFBC) to keep people from creating silly numbers in those categories that would impact the overall contest.

Im not protecting, I just took a few guys that were on the shelf to start the year which put me behind. Thanks for the replies though. Sounds like business as usual.

Has anybody ever been in a league where an owner has been successful with a low IP strategy? It seems like you'd essentially be punting 20% of the categories in a 5x5 format.

I just saw I'm projected to go over +85 innings. I guess I need to be more selective in my starting pitchers. I'm doing well in all 5 pitching cats. I hate to bench any of my pitchers.

Or double down, get way over the pace for the limit and start trading SP.Of course, given what's happening with pitcher injuries, being projected to go over by 85 probably means you are right on pace.
