Hey guys,

I am one of the co-commissioners for this league. We have 8 or 9 guys so far so looking to fill the league the rest of the way.

I wanted to give you a little more information about our league

We use a contract type of league. I have found this to be a great setup.

IDP - PPR - 45 man roster + 5 man taxi squad.

During the initial draft serpentine (3rd round reversal) you draft your team and each player gets a contract between 1-4 years. You take the total number of players drafted and multiply that by 2.5 that gives you the total number of years you may assign (rounded up if ending in .5). We have 45 rounds so you have a total of 113 years worth of contracts to assign.

Rookies are drafted in a separate draft and automatically get a 5 year contract during the rookie draft. There is a 5 man taxi squad that allows you to keep players on there for an unlimited number of years before moving them to the active roster. After they are moved to the active roster they may never be moved back to Taxi.

Waivers - all waiver claims get a 1 year contract. If the player is a rookie according to MFL they may be moved to taxi squad before they are on the active roster for a game and they are then given a 5 year contract.

FA auction - Every year there is a FA auction which includes all players that had the contracts run out. The same contract system is used after the FA auction 2.5 years for each player you draft.

Franchise and Transition tags -

Franchise - Each year you are allowed to franchise a player that player is given a 4 year contract and does not come up for auction.

Transition - Each year you are allowed to also transition tag a player. Those players are put up for auction before the FA auction begins. When the auction ends for your player you are given the option if you want to match the winning bid. The player is the first of your FA's from the FA auction

Those are some basic rules of the league. Here is a link for more information. It is a great setup and we have been doing a similar league since 2007 without a big turnover of owners.

Just wanted to update you on some more features of our league.

Are you still looking for anymore owners? I have been looking for a salary cap idp dynasty. This sounds perfect for me.

Just saw this. Let me go ahead and answer this for you.

1. Why are you interested in the league? I have been looking for a salary cap IDP for about 2 years now. I think its time I move from just Dynasty to a salary cap dynasty

2. What types of fantasy football leagues have you been involved in? Strictly dynasty. Redrafts are for losers.

3. How many and what type of leagues are you involved in for 2012? 6 leagues I believe. Could have been 5 though. Again, all dynasty.

4. Are you interested in serving in a leadership role in the league? Vice commish? Rules, Competition Committees? Not at first. I want to spend my time getting my salary cap under control. Now I will voice my opinion and any subject I want. I think one of the best parts of the dynasty is staying in contact with people over a long period of time. I have 1 league where we have been together for 5 years now. We were 12 strangers who all joined the same site and have made it a kick ### league.

5. What is your location/time zone? Virginia, Eastern Time zone.

We have 12 teams taken as of this post...4 slots open...good variety of owners, experience, background...US, Canada, Australia...due to the unique scoring this will be a very competitive league..

Would be good to have you join, sounds like you are ready for a new format..

One item to be clear on...we are not tracking player salaries...only contracts....

The cost of players picked up in free agency auction will be listed...

So given that if you want a slot, send me a PM, include your first/last name and email...

Thanks for your interest either way

If there is no salary, whats the point to the contract?
Hey Ralph,The contracts are based on years. I have had bad luck when looking at salary based leagues. I had looked at taking over a couple of orphaned teams and those teams were so bad with horrible contract situations that a new owner would have such a hard time to change that team around. This league using contract years instead of an actual salary (that many people struggle to give a correct salary) will be more competitive and will be able to replace any owners that leave the league because the team will never be in a situation with their hands tied by bad contracts from previous owners. The one league that I participated in with salary contract had very limited trading due to salary restrictions (I hate trading limitations) and that league folded after only a couple of years.More about the contract rule:During the initial draft serpentine (3rd round reversal) you draft your team and each player gets a contract between 1-4 years. You take the total number of players drafted and multiply that by 2.5 that gives you the total number of years you may assign (rounded up if ending in .5). We have 45 rounds so you have a total of 113 years worth of contracts to assign. Thanks for looking

ok, so we do the initial draft. I then assign a contract to each player, between 1 and 4 years. And the total number years assigned can't be anymore then 113 years. Right?

Ok, so what about when the contract comes to an end? I see we get 1 transitional tag and 1 franchise tag. Does that mean the rest of the players with ending contracts are free agents?

Is there a penalty for cutting a player who has time left on his contract? Say I sign Freddie Jackson to a 2 year deal, but want to cut him at the end of this season. How or will I be penalized for letting him go 1 year early?

We have the full rules on the website but I will answer your questions quick. You are correct contract 1-4 years and no more than 113 total.Every year somewhere around 20% of the players become available again and we have a FA auction where each team starts with $100 and bids first on Transition tag players then all FA's. To me this is what sets us apart from salary contracts since the league keeps rotating players and teams can rebuild with the FA auction. There is no penalty cutting someone who has multiple years left, however, when picking up a FA during the season that player only ever gets a 1 year contract (Rookies FA's moved to taxi get 5 year contract).
