Interesting Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

Matt's Eagles

I like my Eagles getting Griffen in the 1st but Dwyer in the 2nd. Think they can get a decent RB in the 3rd like McKnight or Blount

St. Louis Rams - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

This will be the third high first rounder in recent years that the Rams have spent on the defensive line. Hopefully Suh can up the level of play of his teammates, and make it a dominating unit.

Detroit - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

McCoy is just a tick below Suh on most boards, and the Lions will be very happy to add a playmaker to their interior line.

Tampa Bay - Eric Berry, DB, Tennessee

After just missing out on the defensive tackles, the Bucs select one of the more versatile defenders in the draft. Berry has the talent to be a standout at any spot in the secondary.

Washington - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame

Russell Okung may get some consideration but the Skins must grab a QB. Jason Campbell hasn’t lived up to expectations, and after Clausen and Bradford, the talent pool drops off considerably. A tackle can be found later, but picking the guy you rate as the top QB cannot be.

Kansas City - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.

The Chiefs may sweat out the Skins selecting Okung, but in the end, they get their man. He slides in at left tackle, and Branden Albert shifts to guard or right tackle, upgrading that spot.

Seattle - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

Pete Caroll hopes to squeeze at least half a season out of Hasselbeck before handing the team over to Bradford. The Seahawks have a lot of holes, but a draft that only has two top QB’s means you grab the QB early, then fill in the other holes later on. Having another first rounder helps out a lot.

Cleveland - Joe Haden, CB, Florida

This may be a bit high considering his subpar showing at the combine, but Haden is still the top corner in the draft. With the need at the position and the ability to grab him at this spot, the Browns pull the trigger on him.

Oakland - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland

There simply isn’t a better physical specimen at the OT position. Campbell had an impressive display of talent at the combine, and that’s really all it takes for Al Davis, isn’t it?

Buffalo - Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers

It’s no secret that the Bills biggest hole is at left tackle. Davis is a New Jersey kid that should be able to come in and be an improvement right away. Davis still needs some work and needs to mature, but his potential is big time.

Jacksonville - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

Morgan and USF’s Jason Pierre-Paul will battle til draft day for the right to be the first DE selected. JPP may be more physically gifted and have more potential, but Morgan isn’t much behind in that regard, but is a lot further along as a football player. His motor will make him a favorite of Jack Del-Rio early on.

Denver(Chi) - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma St.

With Brandon Marshall’s future up in the air, the Broncos may want to nab a new go to performer. Even if Marshall does wear a Bronco uniform again, the team needs more playmakers and adding Bryant would definitely fill that void.

Miami - Taylor Mays, S, USC

The overhaul of the secondary continues. After drafting two corners in the first two rounds last year, the Phins now grab the jumbo safety from Southern Cal. Mays was the second fastest player at the combine and had an excellent showing overall.

San Francisco - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma

Joe Haden and CJ Spiller would be very attractive, but taking care of the offensive line has to be a priority, like it has been more many teams picking before them. Williams has the talent to play on the left side, but played better on the right. With Staley at left tackle, Williams could step in at RT, and give the team excellent bookends to build around.

Seattle(Den) - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa

After landing a QB at the 6th pick, the Seahawks find someone to protect him. Walter Jones announced his retirement, but he really hasn’t been a factor in two years anyway. Bulaga is a guy that fits well in a zone blocking scheme and should be able to play immediately.

NY Giants - Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama

Even before the team released Antonio Pierce, an upgrade inside was needed. A DT may be attractive here as well, but a true mike man with McClain’s size will help against the run and give the team a new leader to build around.

Tennessee - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida

Pierre-Paul may be the most physically gifted end in the draft, but he may also be the rawest. Someone may pull the trigger a bit higher, but his pass rush potential will be a nice addition to the Titans front four.

San Francisco(Car) - CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson

Adding a tackle to the mix helps the offense, but the unit still needs more playmakers. Spiller is as explosive as they come and has the ability to complement Frank Gore very well but also is a factor as a receiver and on special teams.

Pittsburgh - Mike Iupati, OL, Idaho

Most have him pegged as a guard, but Iupati may be able to kick out to tackle for some teams. One thing is for certain - his toughness and attitude on the field will be a welcomed addition to the Steeler offensive line.

Atlanta - Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan

Graham is the top senior end in the draft, and a guy the Falcons would love to add to their defensive line. He may not have the measurables some other top ends have, but few play football as well as Graham.

Houston - Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee

There is a huge need in the secondary, but everything starts up front. Williams is excellent value here, and his presence not only will make it tough to run on the Texans, but could help Amobi Okoye live up to his potential as well.

Cincinnati - Earl Thomas, DB, Texas

Adding Thomas to Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph would give the Bengals the top young secondary in the league, and really give the front seven more freedom to attack.

New England - Jared Odrick, DT, Penn St.

Odrick looks like a young Richard Seymour. The Pats line never recovered after Seymour was traded just before the opener, so adding some youth and talent is going to be one of the teams top priorities this off season.

Green Bay - Charles Brown, OT, USC

Brown surprised many by checking in at 305lbs at the combine, which should keep his stock near the back end of Round One. He is the perfect left tackle in a zone blocking scheme and should help keep Aaron Rodgers healthy.

Philadelphia - Everson Griffen, DE, USC

Griffen has a lot of untapped pass rush potential, but also brings the size to be a factor in the running game. He would be a nice complement to Trent Cole on the other side

Baltimore - Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise St.

After making a move for Anquan Boldin, WR drops down on the list of needs. Upgrading the secondary may jump to the front, and landing a playmaker like Wilson would be excellent value here.

Arizona - Sergio Kindle, LB/DE, Texas

Without any true left tackles on the board, the Cards look to the defensive side of the ball. Kindle would provide a boost off the edge as a pass rusher.

Dallas - Nate Allen, S, South Florida

The Cowboys did a good job plucking Mike Jenkins from USF a couple years ago, and they hope to strike it rich again. Allen is a playmaker in the secondary, but isn’t afraid to get physical either. Shoring up the FS spot for the Cowboys has to be one of their primary concerns at this point.

San Diego - Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno St.

With the release of LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers are in need of a feature back. Matthews has the size and ability to be a workhorse, but had a great timing at the combine, clocking a 4.41 in the 40. If the team can bring back Darren Sproles at a reduced rate, the team will have made a significant upgrade in the running game.

NY Jets - Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame

If 3-4 capable lineman falls, that may be the top target for the Jets. With nobody providing quality value, the Jets go with the best player available that can make an impact for them next year. Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery is a nice starting unit, but Tate’s speed and playmaking ability as the third wideout could take the offense to another level.

Minnesota - Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers

Some youth and speed at corner were a need before Cedric Griffin tore his ACL in the NFC Championship game.

Indianapolis - Brian Price, DT, UCLA

This could be one of the bigger steals of the first round. Price is damn near unblockable. He has a great first step and can really get up the field to wreak havoc.

New Orleans - Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri

Adding an aggressive linebacker to the front seven is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Super Bowl Champs.

2nd round

St. Louis - Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

Detroit - Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma St.

Tampa Bay - Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois

Kansas City - Ricky Sapp, DE/OLB, Clemson

Washington - Jared Veldheer, OT, Hillsdale

Cleveland - Vladimir Ducasse, OL, UMass

Oakland - Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida St.

Seattle - Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech

Buffalo - Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida

Tampa Bay(Chi) - Jerry Hughes, DE, TCU

Miami Thaddeus - Gibson, OLB, Ohio St.

New England(Jac) - Maurkice Pouncey, OL, Florida

Denver - Lamarr Houston, DL, Texas

NY Giants - Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina

Carolina - Carlos Dunlap, DL, Florida

New England(Ten) - Koa Misi, DE/OLB, Utah

San Francisco - Jon Asamoah, G, Illinois

Houston - Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama

Kansas City(Atl) - Jerome Murphy, CB, South Florida

Pittsburgh - Dominique Franks, CB, Oklahoma

New England - Jahvid Best, RB, Cal

Cincinnati - Brandon LaFell, WR, LSU

Philadelphia - Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech

Green Bay - Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest

Baltimore - Jimmy Graham, TE, Miami

Arizona - Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma

Dallas - Alex Carrington, DE, Arkansas St.

San Diego - Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama

NY Jets - Tyson Alualu, DL, Cal

Minnesota - Morgan Burnett, S, Georgia Tech

Indianapolis - Rodger Saffold, OL, Indiana

New Orleans - Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern

Dwyer or Blount would be an upgrade running the ball over McCoy, but I see them perhaps going with a vet backup RB.

Though Bradford would be the right pick by Seattle, I don't see see him slipping to them. [Nor see Claussen going ahead of him]

Benn in Tampa & he'd be starting week 1.

Not a bad mock overall.

:mellow:Blount is really not that great. He has been massively overhyped. If the Eagles draft a RB, I think they'll try to find a bigger back. Maybe someone like Gerhart or Hardesty.

I have no problem with the Vikings first round pick.

The second round pick of a safety seems like a luxary that the Vikings don't really need especially with Dan Lefevour still on the board. If the Vikings can reach for Tarvaris Jackson at 64 then they should be able to reach for Lefevour at 62.

Blount is a big back. I don't think he's great. I think he's a mid-round prospect. Leonard Weaver is not great. Yet, looked much better running the ball than McCoy.I don't believe there's a bigger sell high than McCoy this offseason. I'll have no problems eating crow if McCoy is not a situational 3rd down back 2-3 years down the road. But that's for another topic.

Pats

Odrick in the first and Pouncey and Best in the second? I'd be quite happy with that!
