Interesting rumor: Titans signing today... (1 Viewer)

Sources say there's been a flurry of activity at Baptist Sports Park in Nashville today with the possibilty of an announcement today on a Titan trade and signing...

I personally would be a little taken back if it were Culpepper, but if the price is right, it could make sense.

btw, how can the Titans possibly afford Culpepper? do they have the cap space to accomodate his contract?

QB for QB and a mid-rounder from TN?.

Billy Volek in purple and gold next season?

Just speculation of course, no real info.

Lets just say that this was to come true(I think no way in hell). What would happen to Mcnair. Cut him and use that savings on Pep. I really dont understand why the Titans would be thinking this way. I dont even like them taking a QB at the 3. Take Brick and worry about QB later with a guy like Croyle, Jacobs or Whitehurst or worry about it next year.

They could use a feature back. They might try trading him to San Diego for Ladanian Tomlinson, who needs an established QB.

The Professor says TN and Oak are out of the running for now as MN wants a 2nd round pick for him. Just on ESPN.

Well, that's fine and dandy. Problem is, MN doesn't have anybody willing to part with a 2nd round pick.TN and OAK still in the running.

Titans | Team out of Culpepper race

ESPN.com's John Clayton and Len Pasquarelli report Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese officially notified the Minnesota Vikings that he is no longer interested and won't do any more bidding for QB Daunte Culpepper. Reese labeled the talks exploratory and said he liked the current group of Titans quarterbacks. He said that the Titans will concentrate on longer term solutions in the future as opposed to a short-term acquisition. The Titans were reportedly a finalist in the Culpepper bidding, along with the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders. The Vikings overplayed their hand at bit Friday, March 10, by putting a deadline on three of the teams they were talking to in trade conversations. All three had the perception from the Vikings that one of the teams was offering a second-round pick.

I think anyone getting Culpepper for a 2nd is getting a very good deal.

I'm never both those things at the same time. Sometimes I'm fine. But I'm not dandy. I might be close to dandy. I might be approaching dandy. I might even be in the general vicinity of dandyhood. But not quite fully dandy. Other times, I might indeed be highly dandy. However, not fine. One time, 1978. August. For about an hour. I was both fine and dandy at the same time. But nobody asked me how I was. I coulda told 'em, "Fine and dandy!" I consider it a lost opportunity.

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9298528"A Raiders official said Oakland never made an offer to Minnesota, even though the two sides spoke. The Raiders official said the team is absolutely out of the Culpepper sweepstakes."

Not saying it COULDN'T happen, but I caught this earlier today...
