Interesting rumor (1 Viewer)

Just seen this, first I ever heard of it, of course it's about Nolan denying the report but I felt like passing it on anyhow. I think this actually works well for SF and Denver, NO is getting screwed but maybe Stallworth is causing trouble. SF would win huge here, Stallworth would be #1, Bryant #2 with Battle going to #3. As a 49er fan I hope there is something to this rumor.

(Rotoworld) Head coach Mike Nolan denies the 49ers have considered trading TE Eric Johnson.

Impact: In a rumored deal, Johnson would be sent to the Broncos, Ashley Lelie would go to New Orleans, and Donte' Stallworth would land in San Francisco. "Honest to God, that's the first I've heard of it," Nolan said Friday.

Typical offseason fluff piece.

The Saints just traded for a TE from Buffalo, have Hilton and Conwell from last year and signed Cambell and there is someone else I am forgetting , in the mix. There is no purpose for the Saints to get another TE

It's early. Read it again. The Saints would get a WR not a TE.

When a guy says, "Honest to God, that's the first I've heard of it," I've got to believe him.
Actually, when a coach denies something in that manner, I think he needs to learn how to do a better job of denying things. Seriously.Nolan's pretty new at this. There are going to be times he'll be required to deny things he knows are true. If his denials when he means it don't sound the same as those when he doesn't, people will know which are the lies. So, he shouldn't go out of his way to deny things using phrases like "Honest to God..." He just needs to simply make his statement and move on.
