Invisibles Quiz# 999 (6 Viewers)

@El Floppo Seems like you didn't get the clue above but you are on it as an animal movie, here's the words from hints without my attempt to obfuscate::

1. Actor 1 - Frank Cushman, sliders

2. Actor 2 - black-ish

3. Movie setting - out back

I'd be a bit disappointed if you don't get sliders hint.

3 did it. Love the sliders hint. But no idea what its hinting at...I only know the movie from commercials.

Me too, figured it out instantly but I've never watched the whole thing, maybe 5-10 minutes on TBS or TNT.

Jerry O'Connell was the main character in Sliders and he was in this movie. Frank Cushman was his character in Jerry Maguire. Same with Anthony Anderson (Black-ish).

   I was going for sandwiches.

2 isn't foreign... it's a jim henson film.
ok... weird!

I input the Mexican one... and it said correct.

I just input the Henson one... also correct!

but google search backs up what you guys are saying.... I'm bugging out that I got almost the exact title, but wrong movie.

I think to accommodate typos, mis-spellings, leaving off a "The", "An", "A", "Part 2", "Part II", etc., as long as you get 80% of the title right, you get credit. Even though this means more than one movie's title can be 'correct'.

I kind of get that.

what's weird to me is that I genuinely thought it was the Mexican movie... that has nothing to do with the Henson movie... other than sharing a part of the name.

for the record, I'm often kind of terrible at these but love looking at them. Was pretty happy that I got 4 of them right off the bat here. And that movie in particular was an easy one - one of my wife's favorites and thus one I've seen countless times with my kids despite it being well "before their time".

I always like looking at the older ones of these so I can instantly see the answers. I haven't looked at the clues for most of these people have posted yet, but I feel like I "should/could" know almost all of them this time but can't quite get a few of them.

C’mon, now you are piling on. We’ve already corrected him and he’s already starting eating the great hints he’s given. No need to kick him anymore. Heck he didn’t even know how submit guesses. I’m almost starting to think this is schtick and he’s a mad genius toying with us anal retentive folks who have to correct him…Almost.

Finally got them all with the clues.  I've only actually watched 4 of them (1, 2, 3 & 8).  Out of the others, only #4 seems interesting enough to spend 2 hours on.

So, you going to explain how to do the spoiler thingy?

I tried quoting him, hoping I could then see what he did.  Nope.  Shows it as hidden in the reply/quote window.

the trick is to reveal the hidden content on someone else's post.  Then highlight the box and there should be a little popup that lets you quote just that section (ie you are quoting the hidden box).  It will put that info into the reply box, but you can now alter/edit what is in the hidden part.

F it. I can’t get it to work. I’m on an iPhone so maybe a browser is the only way to do it. I get the spoiler box in the reply area but it doesn’t allow me to change the hidden text.

ok... took a little playing to figure out but seems you need one of these with some text in it to then make it work. you have to see the the already existing, but hidden, text to make it work.

whew...

You might be right.  I am using a browser when I do it.  And I think the link I gave mentioned the same thing.

ok I am using chrome too so that is not the issue.

I tried 2 other browsers and both did the same thing as well so I may just be making a mistake but these are the exact steps I am taking

1) Go to a post with hidden contents

2) click on "Reveal hidden contents"

3) Highlight the text in the hidden contents window

4) This highlighting creates a small icon that says "Quote Selection" framed in a black border

5) I click on that Quote Selection Icon and then in my reply window I see the following:

#3 doesn't sound exactly right.  You don't want to just highlight the text that is hidden.  You need to get the "box" part as well.  Try clicking just above the hidden box and when selecting, grab a blank line above and below.  The rest looks correct though.

yes!!! I was missing an entire step!!  lol

=====================

Now in your reply, mouse-over the "Reveal hidden contents" box and a little box will appear on its top left with a plus in it. Click on that and hit Control-C.  Now go to the thread you want to put a spoiler into your post and Control-V to paste it in there.

for the record, what I've done now is:

  1. reveal the hidden content
  2. highlight the post from below the content to above it
  3. click the "quote selection" box that pops up which copies that into the reply box
  4. I add a couple return lines below the quote, then click the arrows of the "hide content" box and drag it to the bottom.
  5. click the arrows of the quote box and delete it
  6. change the text in the hidden box
  7. post
once you do it a couple times it's pretty easy but a little fiddly at first.

ta da!

Just realized that there are a couple missing steps.  I know you got it now, but for others.

6.  Change the part in the hidden box you want.

7.  There should be a "+" sign in the upper left corner of hidden box.  Click that, then do ctrl-c to copy.

8.  Go to an empty reply winder and hit ctrl-v to paste

Yep.  Just realized that part was missing as well and I added it as well.  Sorry about missing that earlier.
