Is a sack for 0 yard loss really a sack? (1 Viewer)

That garbage time int last night to end the game cost me a win, (tied actually but lost tb). I was looking through the play by play and saw:

2-8-PIT 41 (6:26) 17-J.Campbell sacked at PIT 41 for 0 yards (93-N.Eason).

Is there any chance that gets changed? The next play was 3rd and 8 from the 41 still.

It all depends if the ball was spotted behind the orignal line of scrimmage. Even 1 foot back is a sack, but may not make any difference in how many yards they need for a first down when things get rounded.

I believe the ruling is a sack if the QB is taken down for anything less than a 1 yard gain. So a tackle at the line of scrimmage is a sack.

The case that bugs me more is when a defense gets credit for a sack and forced fumble on the same play. If the QB fumbles, he was not sacked. If he was sacked, he can't fumble. I hate this.

An especially bad one from week 3 this year:

Serious question, if a RB is 20 yards down field and gets tackled and fumbles, does the defensive player get credited with a tackle?
