Just curious, has a Missing Persons Report been filed yet?

He was rotated in and out of there. According to my notes Schobel had a QB knockdown on a 3rd-and-7 from the Miami 15 on the Dolphins' fourth possession. In fact I remember it clearly. He knocked Culpepper to the ground on the play. The statisticians don't catch everything. Denney probably got more reps in the game. He got off to a fast start and it's hard to argue with 3 sacks.
yes, he started and played the entire game. just got shutout on the stat sheet. We only qualify defensive players if they participated in the game. As such, does anyone know if he played at all?Thaks for the help.
this is the right answer. and to add this. going into the season, he was the only "known" threat to cause disruption on the Bills D-Line. So the first few offensive coaches are either doubling him or running away from him. I don't know the stat but I would bet the Dolphins ran to the right twice as many times as they ran to the left.As the season goes on, that will change. See Denney: 3 Sacks. if you have Schobel. hold on to him.yes, he started and played the entire game. just got shutout on the stat sheet. We only qualify defensive players if they participated in the game. he had a very good preseason and looks like he's finally living up to his potential. But, Chris Kelsay is also playing well right now and is still technically the starter. Obviously, Denney is unlikely to keep up this type of production all year long but he definitely looks like a guy you should hold onto for now. The Bills pass rush has been the most impressive part of the team these first two weeks. Schobel should still get his 10 sacks or so this year, but Kelsay/Denney both look like they have a good chance to put up 8 or more too.Aaron, what do you think of Denney's dynasty prospects? I grabbed him last week (didn't start him, though). I like what I've seen & read, but I'm unsure if this is a scheme thing where it's "the guy opposite Schobel" or more a Umeniyora thign where he's a stud in his own right.
Oh well, at least I didn't start him. :(Jiminy, a guy in our league (who normally knows what he's doing) dropped Schobel tonight! Apparently, he doesn't read this BBS!Guess who's about to pick him up?!
He's cost me a few games now. In a dynasty, which I'm in - I'm hanging on to him but am benching him. In a redraft if you can get someone more consistant - I still think I might just bench him for another week and see what happens. He has a fairly good matchup this weekend so.....my two cents.Somebody tell me what to do with Schobel. He was my ace in the hole, now he has put me in a hole. I have Grant and James Hall, but Schobel was my stud. Should I wait or cut bait?
Wait. Once Spikes comes back, his value will go back up.Somebody tell me what to do with Schobel. He was my ace in the hole, now he has put me in a hole. I have Grant and James Hall, but Schobel was my stud. Should I wait or cut bait?
I wouldn't drop him, but I would start Hall and Grant. Someone may be willing to pay for Schobel, but for most, he isn't a big name and he's disapointed so far, so you'll need to find a shark who thinks he's getting a buy-low.Somebody tell me what to do with Schobel. I agree. I am in a league with numerous offensive sharks, but very few in our league have a grasp of IDP even though the league is in its 13th season. The problem is, that those who are not IDP savvy will simply look at his stats and not be willing to trade anything of value for him. So, essentially I have to hold him and hope for the best. Welome to the starting lineup Darren Howard and Charles Grant.I wouldn't drop him, but I would start Hall and Grant. Can you explain these gameplans? Running away from Schobel? Doubling him with a TE on pass plays? And, are these gameplans more about what the offenses usually like to do or more about Buffalo's strengths and weaknesses? For example, if Steve Spurrier had a game where he kept the TE in to double Schobel, that would tell me teams are going to keep their TE in against Schobel and that might be a problem. However, Joe Gibbs keeping a TE in wouldn't be odd and would give me the hope that everyone won't gameplan that way.he's led the team in sacks for 5 straight years. I would hold onto him.he's not playing poorly...offenses have been limiting his production with their offensive gameplanning the past two weeks.
the Dolphins ran away from his side of the field and also slid their protection to his side in pass protection. Because of the heat, the Bills also used a 3-DE rotation that entire game so Schobel lost snaps to Denney that he normally wouldn't, but all of the pressure on Culpepper came from the middle and left side of the line. Schobel did knock down Culpepper on one play so he just missed a sack, but it was clear the Dolphins were giving him a lot of attention and others on the team made them pay with 8 sacks on the day.the Jets used 3-step drops and quick passes to their WRs and screens to the RBs to minimize the pass rush, which had been very effective against the Patriots and Jets. They also ran a lot of 2 TE sets and frequently put their best blocking TE, Sean Ryan, on Schobel's side of the field.McKinnie/Hutchinson on the left side of the Vikings line makes this look like a tough matchup, but the Vikings should at least run a lot of plays to that side of the field, which could lead to some nice tackle numbers. Can you explain these gameplans? I agree with Aaron here. The matchup with the left side of the Viking line looks tough, but Alex Brown looked pretty good last week -- (3-1-0 and collapsed the pocket reasonably well). Even with Ellison still getting a fair number of snaps at LOLB, you have to think they'll be running left (to Schobel's side) a fair amount behind Hutchinson. I don't recall them using him as a pulling guard much -- he's more of a power guard.I think we'll get to see how much of Schobel's problem is rotational and how much was gameplan related this week. Thankfully, we've got Aaron to report back because the gamebooks have been shady at best this season thus far.the Dolphins ran away from his side of the field and also slid their protection to his side in pass protection. Schobel is now tied with Shawne Merriman for the league lead in sacks with 12.5. He had just 1 sack in the first 4 games, which means he's had 11.5 in his last 9.Hope you guys held onto him after his slow start.
Has this ever not happened?Seems like the guy has one sack through six games every season, then gets a sack per game the rest of the way.Schobel is now tied with Shawne Merriman for the league lead in sacks with 12.5. he does seem to be a slow starter in his last few seasons and generally finishes the year strong.2005: 2 sacks in the opener against the Texans but then went 5 games without adding another one. Put up 10 sacks over the last 10 games of the season.2004: 0 sacks in the first 3 games. Then put up 8 sacks over the next 11 games, before going sackless in his last 2.2003: Had 3 sacks in first 4 games and 7 sacks in last 5 games, but just 1.5 sacks in games 5 thru 11.2002: 4.5 sacks in first 5 games, then 3 games in a row without any, then 4 sacks in his last 8 games.Has this ever not happened?Seems like the guy has one sack through six games every season, then gets a sack per game the rest of the way.Schobel is now tied with Shawne Merriman for the league lead in sacks with 12.5. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20061218/1034314.aspI was pretty surprised to hear that he's already tied Bruce Smith's 2nd best season with 2 games to go. His 13.5 sacks now lead the league.Defensive end Aaron Schobel established a personal best by recording a sack in his fifth consecutive game. His 13.5 sacks (12.5 in the last 10 games) are tied for the second most in Bills history for a single season, matching Bruce Smith's total in 1996. Smith owns the team record with 19 in 1990.
Kampman over took him for the league lead Thursday. If one of these 2 lead the league, they would be the first white player to lead since Kevin Greene in 1996, a third straight year it happened. (Greene, Paup, Greene)S. Merriman and Jason Taylor could end up on top, as they are close behind.http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20061218/1034314.aspI was pretty surprised to hear that he's already tied Bruce Smith's 2nd best season with 2 games to go.
