You have to hope that White is in good playing shape today against a smothering Bears defense which can really wreak havoc on a rookie QB's ability to throw down field. If White plays and is double teamed, it could be a long day for White owners who start him.
I'd assume White has been doubled alot this year. I think Tommie Harris is out so that would hurt the Bears D a little. Still, I'm sitting White for Coles and Jennings with a rb at flex.
ETA: Harris isn't out, but not starting. He will play.
I foolishly considered benching White, and remembered how every time I bench a stud, I get burned. Of course it is easier to do when my other options are Baskett or Hixon...
I wasn't feeling the matchup Roddy had against the Bears BEFORE the in-practice head injury this week. BUT, I still would've started him anyways since he is in the very least, a border-line stud. Now that the head injury has kept him out of the last 2 practices, and he appeasr to be a gametime decision, I will instead roll the dice w/ Vincent Jackson.
I don't see how a little hit to the noggin can affect this guy so much.
I would be more concerned with the way the Bears are going to cover him. Will Ryan be able to exploit the Bears with his other weapons if they double Roddy? If so then the coverage on White could loosen up.
Roddy disappeared in the second half against the Packers, so the bears surely studied that game film. Can he get open if he's doubled the entire game? I'm not expecting too much, but he's getting the start.
Another thought here. This is our first opportunity to see how the Dimitroff/Smith regime will handle injury info. Will they be more like Belichick or Tomlin? Having come out of the Pats org, you would think it would be the former.

Not doing an "I told you so", but if any top ten FF positional player is cleared to play.... I have learned that it is foolish to bench them. As with any FF decision, there are no sure bets, but 80% of the time... a top ten player that starts is still going to put in a top ten performance. Hard lessons learned....

I thought I had learned tat long ago too. This is merely rationalization, but I started the week w/ lowered expectations of Roddy b/c I thought Chi would focus their pass defense on Roddy after what he did to GB in he first half last week. I would've started though w/out reservation. But when he got his bell rung & missed Thurs & Fri practices, I thought for sure I couldn't take a chance on Roddy. Anyways, Up until 15 minues ago, I thought my decision would certainly cost me this week, but b/c of the craziness at the end of the SF/Philly game I own the Philly DST), I have a realistic shot at winning even though I made a bad choice in not starting Roddy (I need VJax to get 4 recep for 60 yds). I'm hopig I can learn this lesson again w/out the an of a loss!!
