Is Andrew Thomas the best tackle in the draft? (1 Viewer)

3 year starter and proven he can be a franchise left tackle at Georgia, what I like about him better than the other tackles is he has 36 1/8'' arm length.  Wirfs is 34'', Wills is 34 1/4''.

He is right now without any inkling of a doubt.  I want the Panthers to draft him at 7 so freaking bad.  He may not have the highest upside but he is a starter day 1 and you can forget about him for 10 years.   I have watched a lot of Georgia for the past 2 seasons and he is a savvy player.

Right now? Absolutely. Upside-wise? Probably #4. That said, OT is a position where I would err on the side of caution and take a sure thing over a potentially better player with question marks.

Becton is the really interesting guy to me. He may have the highest ceiling, but he's probably not a top-5 OT in this class right now, I'm not even sure I'd feel good starting him as a rookie, which makes those mocks where he goes #4 to NY seem really iffy, though its not like the Giants are known for their great drafts of late.

Is Becton more a NFL right tackle though?  Will he be an elite left tackle?

Tough to say. I think it depends on what the offense is asking the OT's to do. Looking at teams he's often mocked to, if its a spread the field, pass heavy offense, like say Arizona, I think RT is probably a better option, where a TE can give him more help, however if its a more balanced offense like say New York(Giants or Jets) I could see LT being his spot.

Personally, Becton is the type of guy I wouldn't take until much later than he's likely to go. OT just isn't a position to take chances at in my opinion. So for those fan bases, I'd be hoping they all went in  other directions.

Becton until recently had trouble staying in shape.  That would scare the hell out of me
