Sorry mate, I find just about everything Aerosmith released from the late 80s forward to be pretty terrible. To be honest, I never really dug into old Aerosmith either, so maybe I'm missing out? I don't like "Back in the Saddle" and I burned out on "Sweet Emotion" and "Dream On" in high school. What should I target as a rediscovery?

At least Live and Let Die is mostly instrumental, so we aren't subjected to as much screechy Axl as Knocking On Heaven's Door. But you're right, it sucks, too.

On Amazon, you can get a FM transmitter that plugs into a cigarette lighter and will allow you to play your phone (or IPOD) through an FM channel. That's what I use now for music and and it's only about $20.

I had that with my iPod and the sound quality sucked, but this was 8 years ago....imagine it's gotten better? Have you tried one of these?

Pearl Jam fan is very quick to defend that one as some sort of schtick song that took off because radio fans are unwashed. Suuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrre.....

Was recorded to be part of a charity album, and sent as the fan club single. Some radio station started to play it and it took off.The fact that it is the only Pearl Jam song to hit top ten in Billboards Hot 100 seems to support this. It's a pop song, and Pearl Jam generally doesn't make pop songs.
When it was released as a single the bands proceeds were donated to charity. I have a great idea, let's rip Pearl Jam for this one.

But that is just a horrible performance. Not a good match of song and performer.

I have an old vehicle, too, GM - one that doesn't have bluetooth. I got one of the devices described above. It sounds just like the regular radio through my car speakers to me, though my ears have long been wrecked. But I'd rather have bad sound (if that's really the case) and good, diverse music than have to listen to commercial FM, no matter how good that it may sound

It was recorded as a sound check. It wasn't a song in their regular rotation, they had played it four times over the previous six months on their tour (never before). If you want to knock them for the performance, expectations need to be realistic.
If you don't like the match of song to band, that's your personal taste. Many PJ fans enjoy the fact they never know what they might get at a concert, unlike many rock bands that play the same 10-15 songs every night. Some things hit, and some don't. I actually like their take and find it interesting when bands go out of their comfort zone.
These GnR covers are just rock bands covering rock songs and failing to do so.

I use one now. It's decent as long as you select the right FM channel. You have to get one that is wide open without any other stations next to it. I didn't buy the absolute cheapest one but I didn't get the most expensive one either. Just read the reviews and they will help guide you to a decent one.General Malaise said:
