Is it bad to draft a RB and QB from the same team (1 Viewer)

My draft was tonight and I made a bad mistake by drafting Cutler and Henry. Or was it that bad of a move. If so shuld I try and trade away Cutler for Lienart or some sort? I also have Roethlisberger as my QB2 so I do have a starter and I was planning on running sort of like a QBBC.

Sorry I searched and couldn't find anything.

Also is it bad to have a WR and TE from the same team because in my other league I have Moss and Cooley but I saw Cooley in round 10 and had to jumo on him there too good of value.

Ive had QB/RB combos before and I never felt like it hurt my team. As long as its a good offense I see no reason to think you made a mistake.

Play your best players and dont worry about whether or not they are on the same team. Sure once in a while a team will get shutout and you will suffer at 2 positions, but I doubt the chance is any greater than a QB and RB on 2 different teams putting up goose eggs on a given week.

Yea thats what I was thinking. I'm pretty much going to play matchups this year with my QB situation.

Thanks for the reply.

This year, I've been targeting Brady and Maroney in my drafts.

The way Brady spreads around the ball makes the WR options a little less appealing than what other teams have.

But having virtually all of the passing points and most of the rushing points for what looks to be a very potent offense is a wise strategy IMO.

I was actually going to target Westbrook and McNabb but only got Westbrook, but I did this because McNabb spreads the ball around so well and his number 1 reciever is Westbrook. I do see your point though and I think that Denvers offense will be a force this year.

Denver's offense isn't looking great thus far. Granted Henry hasn't been available, but I'm sure Shanny would like things to be going better. Lepsis' (and the rest of the Oline) pending health issues (recovery wise) will impact this situation a lot.

This RB/QB theory is fine w/ top offensive teams like Indy/NE/mabye CIN/PHI, but otherwise I (personally) would prefer to spread my risk around a little more. Also, Denver's defense has been less than stellar thus far (LBs and D line especially) - so they may be on the field more than usual - at least early on.

It all depends on the team. DEN isn't my favorite WR/RB combo, but I also don't think it will hurt you. I would avoid combos from teams who struggle at both positions when they have an off week. I think DEN will rarely suffer at both spots on a bad week, but a team like GB, TEN, WAS, OAK, et all, will have their O shut down completely if it's a bad week.

I imagine if Cutler stinks up the place, Henry will still get his, or vice versa.

QB/RB combos I wouldn't mind having on my roster (in this order):

Manning/Addai

Brees/Bush

Bulger/Jackson

Roethlisberger/Parker

Cutler/Henry

Brady/Maroney

i honestly wouldn't worry about it if you're getting value unless you draft the whole offense. my last draft, i ended up with J Jones, Glenn and Witten from the Cowboys.
