Is It Time To Trade Ed Reed? (1 Viewer)

IDP only league, 6-team, 10 man rosters (4DL, 2 LB, 4 DB), cumulative points (no head-to head)

Scoring System:

TD - 6

Safety - 3

Sack - 2

Assisted Sack - 1

INT - 2

Fumble Recovery - 2

Tackle - 1

Assisted Tackle - 0.5

My Roster (start 2 DL, 1 LB, 2 DB)

DL - Robert Mathis, Aaron Schobel, Terrell Suggs, Kevin Williams

LB - Donnie Edwards, Julian Peterson

DB - Tony Parrish, Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed, Dunta Robinson

I Give:

DB Ed Reed

I Get:

LB Brian Urlacher

DL Simeon Rice

I have very disapointed with how Ed Reed (and the entire Baltimore defense) has played the first two games this season. This trade is the only offer I have gotten for him. Do you think that it is a good deal? I think my greatest need is at DL and this trade doesn't really address that. However, I am getting one of the best players in the league in Brian Urlacher. Should I go with the consistency I would get from Urlacher and Rice or the big game possibility with Ed Reed?

i've never played an IDP only league, but i'd think one would trade reed for urlacher straight up... imho, reed isn't going to give you consistent pts every week... he's a big play guy who makes those plays in bunches... so he can very well lay goose eggs 2 weeks in a row then outscore all defenders the 3rd week, which is frustrating b/c the week you sit him he usually blows up...as long as parrish's injury isn't serious, i think you can make due without reed (i'm assuming you play 2 dbs)

I'd do this in a second. Turn around and use your DL depth to add another top DB. Dunta is not going to get last year's production ever again. He's being avoided; too good a DB to score fantasy-wise. So you need another DB.

I can't believe you are even debating this trade. I would trade Ed Reed for Urlacher straight up in a second. Plus, you are getting Simen Rice. After you make the trade, I would pick up Deke Cooper to add depth to your DBs.
