He was dropped by a member in my league this week. I know he starts opposite of AJ and now that Daniels is done for the year, that could potentially mean more targets for him. Considering how much they throw the football, I was curious if I should go ahead and stash him for an emergency use since I do have an empty slot on my roster, or just wait for someone else to come along (Lee Evans, Schilens, and the entire Titans WR lineup is also available).

I have him rostered in a 10 team league and he is first on my list to drop if something better comes along. If you have the empty slot might as well stash him however.

2 team league? 6 team league? naw. 8 team, probably not.

Real league? He starts on a team that moves the ball well through the air. There is your answer.

Definitely roster-worthy.

The Texans now have a bye week to fully gameplan for life after Owen Daniels, and that means more plays for Walter over the middle. Walter had 5 catches on 7 targets the first game w/o Daniels. I expect 7-8 targets/week going forward. That many targets on a top-5 passing team could be 2nd half gold. Walter is definitely a top-30 WR for the 2nd half IMO.

It's a 12 team league on yahoo. Slim pickings as far as finding any good WR's in the FA pool right now. I traded Maclin and one of my benched QB's for Vincent Jackson which is why I have an opening where Maclin was sitting.

Here are the player notes which peaked my interest in picking him up now:

"WR Kevin Walter is expected to get more balls thrown his way now that TE Owen Daniels is on injured reserve. At Indianapolis, Matt Schaub threw six passes to Walter, and he caught five for 67 yards. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, Walter is a physical player who'll run routes over the middle, fight for the ball and block like a fiend. He also has excellent hands. Expect him to be more of a factor after the bye."
