Is Matt Forte ...Reggie Bush? (1 Viewer)

It week 3 so its time overreact ... haha..

But..

Lots of hype on Matt Forte coming into the season. Lets face it, hes just not a great runner. His ypc was evidence of that last year, and THIS YEAR, with what we perceived to be an improved line + Cutler, we've seen the same lack of production on the ground w/ 2.5ypc through 3 games!!!!!!

It's still early but, the only difference between Reggie Bush and Forte is the # of carries. If NO force fed Bush the ball 20-25 times a game, he'd have similar rushing totals at 3.5-3.9 a pop too.

He's still young with great potential ..but maybe we may have overrated him just a little?

Are you drafting Forte in the first six picks next year?

What an awful, horrible, baseless comparison.

That being said, most RBs who average less than 4 yards a pop don't stay starters too long in the NFL.
Exactly - Bush is a better RB than Forte. He doesn't have any power, but he's more elusive and faster than Forte.I think Forte and Hightower are pretty much the same RB for comparison's sake.

BTW - those disappointed in Forte - don't say you weren't warned.

Watch some Bears games and you will see there run blocking is awful. IMO the Bears never get into a rythum running the ball and go away from the run since they have Cutler. Forte is a good all around RB but he is only as good as his line allows him to be.

I have never liked Forte. But he's far better than Hightower.

I think Forte is better between the tackles than Bush. Which is not saying much. Both have potential to be great in the passing game.

Last year the whole offense ran through him. Now it doesn't.

In redraft I still think it's a good opportunity to buy low. Once Chicago faces cupcake teams there will be a lot more opportunities for RZ runs and garbage yards. And there is no one else in Chicago worth noting.

I agree with this...I just traded for Forte and am banking on Lovie coming around and re-committing to the run. We'll just have to see what happens...but another couple of Cutler mishaps will sweeten the pot.

I'm a Forte owner and I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread but outside of CBS sportsline, has anyone heard anything

about a lower leg injury he "supposedly" sustained yesterday?

Forte has legged wrapped after game

Matt Forte, RB CHI

News: Chicago running back Matt Forte was bent back awkwardly at the end of an 11-yard run on the Bears' winning drive Week 3 against the Seahawks. He spent the last few plays running in place on the sideline, trying to get loose, as Adrian Peterson replaced him. Forte, who had 66 yards on 21 carries as he continues to grind through a slow opening month, limped some in the locker room following an extended, postgame treatment session. Forte, who also had a team-high six receptions for 40 yards, had a wrap on his left leg.

Analysis: The Bears chose not to elaborate on Forte's injury after the game, so they are probably waiting to run some tests before divulging any further information. If this injury turns out to be bad, it will just add further insult to any already disappointing start for Forte, who is still searching for his first touchdown. We say don't give up on Forte, who was a high-end first-round draft pick in most Fantasy formats. Keep tabs on his status leading up to Week 4 against the Lions. Forte had 37 carries for 162 yards and one touchdown in two games against Detroit last season.
