Sometimes, we look for reasons to sell a guy just for the sake of making a transaction. If someone offered me ODB for Calvin straight up, it would be an easy decline. Calvin Johnson has had years of ELITE success against double coverages and game plans. ODB has had five good games. Let that marinate for a second. When ODB has shown me the ability to put up elite numbers for longer than TWO years, we can talk. There are too many one and dones in this league for me to get suckered into trading a proven stud for a rookie having five games worth of success. Pass. No one is jumping out of his seat to trade Forte for Forsett. Hot doesn't mean more talented.

One thing that is going against Calvin is the Detroit Lions defense. It's not that he's slipping or other WRs are better. The Lions don't need to score big to win games. That hurts production because this team is not about destroying he opposition. They will gladly run the ball down near the red zone and kick FGs. It wasn't as bad this year as last year but it takes away points from Calvin.

I understand that, but lets be honest. Here is Calvin's career. Most likely

First 2 or 3 years = serious talent, could be one of the best receivers in the league if he doesn't get hit by injuries or just loses focus

Next 5 or so year = best receiver in the game and it isn't close, he delivered on his talent and avoided injury.

Next 3 to 5 years = a top 10 receiver, no longer the unquestioned best in the game, but still in the conversation. Has lost a step, but because he was such a freak before he can still dominate any game, just won't do it as frequently as he did before.

Last remaining years = probably a red zone threat and possession receiver, expect him to miss some time every year.

stafford seems to be a good qb for calvin. he has a strong arm and goes deep to him on jump balls often.

It would appear as if the days of Stafford just flinging it up to Calvin and praying ,with it working sometimes and not working other times, are behind us. Stafford is obviously being coached to be much more careful with the ball, and that combined with their D being a lot better, the days of Megatron, even when healthy, dominating the WR stat sheet might be over. Now, that doesn't mean I think he won't be great anymore, but I am just saying, the days of him lapping the field might be a thing of the past.

Calvin is awesome still but if we are talking dynasty here not even sure i take him in the first round anymore. Will have to look at this later but i think that is the case.

Thay would be a huge drop from where many had him six months ago

Maybe ODB takes his spot as top asset?

I will happily go ODB over calvin in dynasty.

You are insane if you think he is just as fast and can make moves like he did 5 years ago. This isn't your average aging of a person. That is 5 years of the NFL and injuries in him. Now instead of being faster than everyone in the field he is just as fast.
