Is Reggie Williams for real? (1 Viewer)

I picked him up before yesterdays game. He had 12 targets and 8 catches for 95 yards. It looks like he is the Jags #1 WR, so I'm thinking he has WR2 or WR3 value in 12 team leagues.

He also a candidate for a breakout season, IMO. I could see him putting up 1100 yards and 8 TDs this year.

Right now he's my 5th WR so I'm happy...

I'm trying to play the fast track on him, considering hes still a free agent - I just dont know who to give up on my roster for him.

Thats a tough decision. I'd probably drop Kennison.
Agreed, but I have to drop 2 ppl (1 of which will be kennison)!! Williams has been thrown to so many times, grrr ... I think he could be the biggest sleeper WR this year if he continues & looking at his schedule I don't see him slowing down!!

I agree, his schedule is like a trip down the yellow brick road after this week. Couple that with all of the targets and a good DEF, and he is like a gem just sitting there on the waiver wire. I am going to grab him tonite in my league where I get 1 pt. per rec. and 10 pt.'s per rec. TD. The only hesitancy is the mental block of "It's only Reggie Williams!". But I cannot argue against the targets and STATS put up so far against the Steelers and Cowboys DEF's!

Just dropped Brandon "highlight catch" Lloyd for Reg Williams. Williams looks like a decent WR3 option w/ upside @ this point as long as Lefty is thowing 40ish passes a game and keeps targeting RW.

JAX wrs will be tough to predict week to week though, since there's 3 that are about "equally" involved.

I'm dropping Nate Burleson for him.

For some reason, I thought that if the Seahawks signed him to a big $ deal, he would be a key WR.

Doh! :bag:

I have Wilford, but I'm nt sure whether I should 'swap' these JAX WRs. It costs us $2 per move so I'm not sure he's worth it yet, he may be but...

Dropped Mi. Clayton for him.
Dropped Mike Clayton in one league, Dropped Rod Smith in another
Wow. Those are two surprising drops for a somewhat unproven WR - his upside is probably higher than those two though.
Perhaps, but Rod Smith was dropped in a Keeper league, and the case where I dropped Mike Clayton, it's more a case of needing someone NOW rather than later, since Moss isn't producing worth anything, and yes, I do believe his upside is a bit higher than that of Michael Clayton, especially given the sheer number of targets coming his way.

Drafted him in 21st round of a ppr initial dynasty league this year. Wasn't expecting much, but was hopeing he would start for J'ville and keep the job. He has earned a starting spot this week, probably more after that.

I was thinking about dropping Rod Smith for him as well. I like the upside and Denver just looks bad right now. I am not sure yet.

Dropped Samie Parker for him. Hoping he can be a productive #2 or 3 for me depending on if Roy Williams gets a clue. Not holding my breath on that one.

I did this after week 1... i got to watch the Cowboys game and i really liked what i saw... the Steelers game cemented it... and now i'm gonna give him the start against Indy this week (Gates on Bye)i think his floor is about 7 points... great WR 3 material

There's actually 2. Wilford has half as many targets.

I was shocked when Williams was dropped in late August in my very deep 14 team dynasty league. Like many, I didn't have high expectations, but I thought he could add depth at least. Now I am starting him over Jordan with the bye and I could easily see myself starting him even when Jordan comes back.

:goodposting: I grabbed him late in both my dynasty drafts and in one redraft with a large roster just hoping for the best. He's going to start in all three (I play three WRs and a flex in all three) until I figure out what is what. As far as Matt Jones being "far better" as I've been reading well I'm not so sure. Jones may be the better athlete but Williams has been a WR much longer and has good size and skill. He was supposed to be an immediate impact player coming out of UW but WR is sometimes a difficult position to get comfortable with out of college. Reggie has the talent and if he gets the targets there is good reason to think he'll actually outperform Jones. I don't think he'll get the TDs or the big plays necessarily but in a PPR he may actually be more valuable. I'm still trying to feel this out but it seems like Reggie could actually become a pretty damn good player.

Have been high on the Jags all season. Drafted Lefty and M. Jones in two leagues. In one I also had Greg Jones. No way would I draft Fragile Fred, but He has looked good. Wilford and Reggie were on the board and as good as other receivers available. Thought that would be too many players from one team. greg Jones now gone. Reggis was still available this week but could not pull the trigger to have two wide receivers from same team. I am familar with the articles on 2 WR from the same team but they talk about top 20 receivers. Jones and Reggie not there yet. Would anyone have taken the two along with Lefty on the same team?

Traded Droughns for him today straight up and feel good about it. Deep at RB, thin at WR, and really like what I see from Reggie and Byron thus far.

Wow - that was the best you could do for Droughns?
Depends on what you mean. I'd rather have Reggie Williams than a guy like Joey Galloway or Javon Walker right now. But, I could have swung one of them in a deal maybe. Could have gotten Williamson or Leftwich for Droughns too probably.
