Is T.O. untradeable? (1 Viewer)

Our trade deadline is today. I have a very young team outside of T.O. and my team is a .500 team so I posted on my league message board that T.O. could be had and I was looking for a couple of good young players (not position specific). I got exactly zero interest, not even an inquiry to determine what it would take. Is my asking price too high? Does T.O. carry too much baggage to be able to get two young solid players? My thinking now is he can by far outplay his value in dynasty formats. Anyone else experiencing this.

Not trying to trade him as I am very much in the running (almost clinched #1 seed) but I can't see how he would have such little interest. Try making specific offers to the teams that are atop the league or on the playoff bubble. Personal feelings aside (hey none of these guys are my buddies) T.O. still puts up alot of points, and in the end that's all that matters.

Thanks. I think that is what I am rying to say. It appears he is a guy that will clearly outproduce what anyone is willing to pay for him due to his past issues. He seems like one of those dynasty guys that you can not get fair value for if he is on your roster. I was just wondering if others are experiencing that.

Like in "Officer and a Gentleman" - TO has no where else to go.

I say keep him, he has 3 years in Dallas with Romo, at least.

The following trade went down in one of my leagues for Owens after TO's owner sent out mass email (I am not involved). A couple of notes this took place prior to last week's games and college picks are for players drafted in anytime during their college careers, and held in a five man college roster until they become pros.

Cleveland Browns gave up Norwood, Jerious ATL RB;Owens, Terrell DAL WR & 1st round college pick.

Indianapolis Colts gave up Portis, Clinton WAS RB;Gonzalez, Tony KCC TE

TO in most dynasty cases is worth more to hold onto than you'll be able to get in any deal. He obviously carries baggage/high risk like no other player. Anyone trading for him will want to discount him for the risk factor but most owners recognize that he's a top 5 WR talent and want to be compensated as such. There in lies the problem.

Join the club. :hifive: <--------- Jamal Lewis owner in a dynasty league.
No offense, but you two are not in the same club.
So I'm getting inundated with inquiries about Lewis?
:whoosh:
I just got Gore ($21) for TO ($71 salary in a $400 cap) and a 1st round pick - I was thrilled. I say this to point out that he is tradeable. As far as Lewis, I am quite certain that you would not get Gore for him. I think that's what he meant by you two not being in the same club.

Let's not forget that in this relatively uneventful year for TO, he had an overdose on pills, two reported blowups with his position coach, suspicions that he was loafing in his return from an (alleged) preseason injury to avoid work, a report that he sleeps in team meetings that he then turned into an end zone celebration that resulted in a 15-yard penalty, and some critical drops for good measure.

Parcells has kept him basically in check for this season (but it's early), however many people think Parcells won't be back next season. Then what?

I would be looking to trade for him as I think he'll outperform what you have to give up for him.

I say "would" because he's either already on my team (keeper league), or I already have great WRs at much cheaper salaries in my dynasty.

and he was able to break his hand in there somewhere as well....

I didn't include that because it has nothing to do with the way that those marbles roll around in his head which was the point I was making, but yes, it's otherwise another event involving him this season.

I'm in the same boat. The trading deadline came and went and I had a few offers for TO but all well below his true value. But cheer up. There are worse things that having a top 5-10 WR on your team for the next 4 years. Especially if youre team is young outside of TO (like mine; see below in sig)--you should have a few productive veterans to pair with inconsistent youngsters. And look at the positives: 1) TO is in great shape (hence the 3-4 year comment), 2) TO is playing with a surgically repaired finger and missed a couple of games this year (so his #'s are depressed), 3) TO played with Bledsoe who favored Glenn for most of the games (also depressing his stats), and 4) Romo is now entrenched at QB for Dallas and he has good chemistry with TO.I also have Jamal Lewis who I am very glad I didn't trade. Billick is back feeding Lewis the ball and he's only 27 years old so in a dynasty league he probably has a few years left, despite losing a step.
