The Dolphins, Falcons and Ravens all had terrific outcomes from their coaching hires last season with Sporano, Mike Smith and Harbaugh respectively. Jim Zorn also had mixed results. Thus far McDaniels looks like a spoiled kid who has alienated the franchise QB and WR, Haley just fired his OC two weeks before the season starts and while Cable has some games from under his belt last year, he punched his assistant in the face. The only sane one looks like Jim Schwartz who will be a considered a miracle worker if he wins 6 games.

Does anyone have much hope for these guys this year and beyond?

Hard to say with Haley as I'm hardly close to the situation. It could mean he's a control freak that will spin out of control which is obviously bad. Or it could mean he is so passionate about winning and decisive that he's willing to take a risk in firing his OC in the pre-season, which could be a good thing.

You forgot Spagnuolo, who like Schwartz appears to be sane but has a terrible team.

You alo forgot Ryan who seems pretty sane.

I think the AFC west hires are going to end up spotty:-

Cable sounded like a guy who made sense, and then he hauled off on a coach. I think this is his one and only head coaching job from that single event, unless he pulls of something miraculous.

McDaniels & the new GM don't seem like they evaluated any players on the roster before coming in, and just decided to do what they wanted - revamping an offense that worked well, and not giving the defense much help in the draft.

Haley/Pioli should be better, but they also went out of their way to alienate players and change things up, and spent a lot of $ on a ??? at QB, plus the OC move.

I think that KC & Denver have inherited the shadiness mentality of the Patriots from their hires. we'll see how long the owners deal with guys they can exactly trust, if the results aren't stellar..
