Is the Red Zone Channel now going to be on NFLN every Sunday? (1 Viewer)

Spent the $5 per month for the sports package on Dish just for the redzone channel. I scrolled through the other sports channels that came as part of the package and games were not available to view in my area (what a joke). I will have my Vikings on the main screen and the redzone channel on the PIP. 3 & 1/2 hours to KICKOFF!! :headbang: :football: My 2 yr old is already in is AD jersey and dad will be shortly
Dish Network subscriber here - I thought I read that it cost $5/mo if you already have silver/200. I only have bronze/ 100 - do you know if I have to upgrade to Siver /200 first? Thanks
Sorry, not sure because I have the silver package. Had to go with the silver so I could get NFL Network.

I have Comcast, I have the sports package, and the NFL network (NFLN on 265 or 853 in HD) says it's playing nfl gameday statzone, but it was on random programming right now. Found it on channel 287 (low def) on NFLRZ. Very nice.

I have Dish Network Gold/250 with HD. I was told I would have it when I signed up a week ago. I am getting it in SD on Channel 155, but not getting it in HD on Channel 9467. Channel 9467 says I need to call to subscribe to it. That's kind of odd that I get it in SD on 155, but they want me to pay extra for the HD channel when I already pay for HD.

So this is a different redzone channel then the one on Direct TV. Right?

For those of you that have seen both how does it compare?

I had Sunday Ticket last year, now have Fios with RedZone and they appear to be exactly the same. Only difference is Scott Hanson instead of the shrimp.

There is one NFL RedZone channel and it debuts today. It is being carried by all cable/satellite companies as far as I know. Everyone is talking about the same channel in this thread.

I am just calling it the fantasy football channel. It is AWESOME!! I have not had Direct TV for 3 years so this is just what the Dr. ordered for me. I have Comcast and have the HD Channel 263 in DC area. Right next to the NFLHD Channel.

:excited:

Wrong.
Thanks for elaborating. The guy hosting the channel said at the beginning of the broadcast that this channel was debuting today. I know for a fact that FiOS, Comcast, DirecTV and Dish are all carrying it. Please let me know how I was wrong.

The one time comcast does something better than Cox Cable and it is this

Not correct.DirecTV is definitely not carrying it. They have their own version included with Sunday Ticket/SuperFan, so I doubt they will carry for free what they are currently getting $400 per customer for.

I ordered it about 45 minutes into the first games. I have watched Fox and CBS about 5 minutes total since then. Best $6/month I could spend!!!

I live in Manchester CT and Cox Cable doesn't seem to have it. What's the dealio? :banned:

Really love RedZone. I primarily watched home team game, switch at dead times using DVR to catch on missed stuff. Particularly nice skipping the studio guys at half time.

This will probably keep me subscribing to Comcast sports package until end of NFL season.

Comcast could have handled channel assignment better than having channel described as TBA

Not carried by Time Warner (2nd largest cable company).

Not correct.

DirecTV carries it on Channel 703...FYIhttps://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/nfl_superfan

Great channel...........pretty much just kept it on this channel for all the early games. You get to see all the scoring plays, most live when they are happeining. Just saw that rediculous Denver TD, would have missed it without the redzone.

Yeah, this is great. I had to lose Sunday Ticket when I moved, not sat sight lines. This was excellent. No HD, but better than watching Minn/Cleve. I'll watch every Bears game in it's entirety, but when they aren't on RedZone is what will be.

Not correct. This is not the same channel.DirecTV carries "The Red Zone Channel", which is not free (other than week 1 free preview). You need to purchase NFL Sunday Ticket ($300) + SuperFan ($100) to get it. Note where your link is from.

The station we are discussing in this thread is "NFL RedZone", which is not currently available on DirecTV.

Yes. I agree you have to have the ticket. That fact was not debated. What was debated was whether or not they carry it and they do on Channel 703. A good friend of mine has the ticket on DirecTV and also confirmed for me that 703 is this same RedZone channel I am watching on Dish.

No commercials. I can't even bring myself to click over to the local game hardly at all because 20 seconds after I do it's a commercial...

Your friend lied to you.

Why is there such confusion? Yes, DTV customers can't buy it separately but it's the same channel. I had ST/SuperFan last year and Fios now and it's the same thing. If they're running separate feeds then they're wasting resources. In the end, it's the same product (the CHANNEL, that is).

So they are telling Comcast customers what channel on DTV Sunday Ticket they can see the game? The commentary on DTV RZC tells you which channels you can switch to to see the game full time. Because of this I would say there is some difference in the NFL Red Zone and the DTV Red Zone Channel.

If that's considered a significant difference, then fine. I'm guessing Siciliano is doing DTV and Hansen is doing everyone else. The actual footage is probably exactly the same. Why would it be different? From my experience with both, Fios jumped around in the exact same way DTV did last year.

Incorrect. It is not the same channel.Completely different set, host, etc.

LOFL of course it is! Did you think they stage a different set of NFL games? These are two separate shows. They are both the same type of shows.

This is not that confusing people.

The key difference is, one of them you have to pay $400 to get.

 It's the same video feed with a different guy talking about it. If you want to call that different, then fine. As someone who's had both, it was the same experience today on Fios as I had on DTV. Very happy to be paying $50 instead of $400.
