Try to wipe that memory and watch it from the beginning. Arguably, the greatest show/film ever done.it was good. I cheated and read Wikipedia to know who was who, but the ending is great.

I care enough that if you don't keep watching i will never read any of your posts again!I'm 5 episodes in. So far its a good show, not great.Every time David and Keith are on screen it reminds me of Dexter and Doakes. Had I watched 6FU before Dexter, seeing Dexter and Doakes on screen would have reminded of David and Keith, which would have been weird.Ill decide at the end of season one whether or not to continue watching, and ill keep you all posted because I know you care.
Picture this guy with a red wig ------>That is Claire in every scene.
Just got done watching the series finale. After 2 seasons I thought 'meh'...halfway through season five I didn't want the show to end...and I purposely held out watching the finale for a few weeks for that reason alone. The homestretch is a textbook example of art transcending it's medium.Wingnut said:Picture this guy with a red wig ------>That is Claire in every scene.

One of HBO's best ever. And yes, one of the best endings to a series finale ever...
Yep. Looking fwd to seeing this one again. So many stories told within a story that I forgot many of the plot lines. Really powerful show. Not only is it worth getting into but I think it probably gets better with repeat viewings.
Another great thing about it is how on many levels each show is self contained. Of course the running plots are central to the whole show but each episode centers around the opening sequence death which makes it easy to sort of jump in for single episodes without much background.Yep. unless you want to miss more greatness. The following seasons are equally if not more gripping.Enjoy Seasons 1 & 2, then walk away.
I thought there were some low points sometime in the third or fourth season, but it rebounded strongly. You can't walk away from Six Feet Under until you finish the whole series.unless you want to miss more greatness. Definitely. Best series finale I've ever seen. Worth the ride just for that, but lots of good stuff leading up to it.I thought there were some low points sometime in the third or fourth season, but it rebounded strongly. I walked away easily after about 8 episodes.I thought there were some low points sometime in the third or fourth season, but it rebounded strongly. From a cultural standpoint, I'd start with The Sopranos. It's the one most likely to be brought up in casual conversation.I still haven't seen:
Six Feet Under
The Wire
Deadwood
Boardwalk Empire
The Sopranos
Just got HBO GO, so I plan on changing that. Which do you guys recommend starting with?
I presume you are straight and a very enlightened person so is it safe to say that you watch gay porn for pleasure? After all it is just two people having sex just like any other two people having sex.Yes, I suppose if you're a homophobe, you might have issues with the with David/Keith storyline. Otherwise, it's just a relationship, like the other relationships in the show.
Whiff.I presume you are straight and a very enlightened person so is it safe to say that you watch gay porn for pleasure? Not wanting to see two dudes full on making out does not make one a homophobe.
Not really. I am not trying to be adversarial but to honestly suggest, that to heterosexual men (and most likely women), two men sucking face should be as comfortable to watch as a heterosexual couple doing the same seems quite naive. Perhaps it will be viewed the same way in a few years, maybe a decade or so but it isn't now and should not be expected to be. The fact that the "enlightened" few think that it should really means nothing because, frankly, I don't believe that you feel the same way about both situations regardless of what you profess.Whiff.I presume you are straight and a very enlightened person so is it safe to say that you watch gay porn for pleasure? Their being gay had nothing to do with it. I felt that their story just didn't click, and almost all of it felt forced. In a show full of realism, something like that really stands out.Yes, I suppose if you're a homophobe, you might have issues with the with David/Keith storyline. yeah, i didn't buy the Keith thing. Didn't seem like dude was too comfortable filming those scenes.Their being gay had nothing to do with it. Criticism of a gay plot line no more makes you a homophobe than criticism of Obama's policies makes you a racist.
Not every straight guy is comfortable being affectionate so I took it like he was a non-affectionate gay guy.yeah, i didn't buy the Keith thing. Queer as Folk has hotter guys if that's what you're worried about.Still haven't given the show a shot and recent comments aren't helping.
Nah don't sweat it, Michael C. Hall's character is closet homosexual and he does make out with his BF a bit during season one. It's nothing gratuitous.Still haven't given the show a shot and recent comments aren't helping.
If you're a normal guy with a ####, whenever you see two people making out whether on TV or in person, you picture them having sex. For me to enjoy it, they either have to be heterosexual and attractive, or non-fatty lesbians. The more I think of it I could do without watching a heterosexual couple sucking face on TV too.
Frankly if two people are sucking face on screen give me two hot women every time.
I guess I must not be normal then because I am far more likely to picture her having sex with me.If you're a normal guy with a ####, whenever you see two people making out whether on TV or in person, you picture them having sex. Yeah, I wasn't serious. I still have the first episode on my DVR. Most shows I watch are winding down so I'll probably start this one soon.Nah don't sweat it, Michael C. Won't be a problem I watched Dexter long before SFU & MCH does an incredible job so you should let it pass pretty quickly without realizing it.Yeah, I wasn't serious. I worry more that I'll be able to seperate Hall from Dexter.
No problem, I hate everyone equally.no worries....just stop being racist and you're goodI guess I must not be normal then because I am far more likely to picture her having sex with me.If you're a normal guy with a ####, whenever you see two people making out whether on TV or in person, you picture them having sex. There is one minor story arc coming up in season 1 that is particularly funny. You're definitely on the right foot. Finally got around to watching the pilot. Good show...will watch some more. I hope the dead father went away with the bus at the end. Him being over everyone's shoulder is too much like Dexter. Didn't know the old lady from American Horror Story is in it. Don't think I've ever seen the other guy (Krause) in anything although I recognize the name. Also don't care for the "gotcha" scenes where you're not sure if something really happened. Maybe they started the trend? It's been done too much since. Impressed by how good a job they did setting up all the characters. Very fluid and never felt forced.
I'm hoping there is more humor to come although there were some funny moments. Especially with the kid mortician.
My wife is a lot tougher to impress and if it's too slow, she'll easily lose interest. I'm dragging her through Sherlock. Gonna take this show a little slow until she gets into it.
NBC series "Parenthood" maybe?Don't think I've ever seen the other guy (Krause) in anything although I recognize the name.

Looked him up on imdb and the only things I've seen are The Truman Show and he was on an episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun. Can't say as I remember him from either.Krause was one of the anchors on Sports Night. Also the lead in an ABC show from a few years ago called Dirty Sexy Money.
