Is there a better month than October? I think not (1 Viewer)

Devil's Advocate
Absolutely gorgeous weather here in the northeast. The air is crisp and fresh. The leaves are green and red and yellow and orange. Apple pie cooling in the window. Girls wearing snug sweaters and slutty Halloween costumes. A hot cup of fresh-brewed coffee on a chilly morning.

Football is in full swing. The baseball playoffs are underway. Hockey is starting up.

I  October.

And I think we can all agree February is the worst
Definitely. From the hangover after the Super Bowl, reaching maximum suckitude on the 14th, and still crapping on you for two more weeks with awful weather. #### you February, #### you right in your frigid #######.

Now we just need a "Nicest place to be in October" poll.

Anywhere in New England is pretty great.
GA is like late August in the northeast right now, though we're starting to get the cooler nights. Next month it will start to feel like winter is really coming.Love the weather here. We still get all the seasons but 2-3 months less of the cold weather that the north gets. And even in the dead of winter, it's rarely below freezing as a high temp, and you can always get a surprise 50s/60s day once in a while.

October is too cold in the northeast, but down here in Florida, it's perfect. The water temperature is still warm.

Yea, only 93 here today. Thank god for my sweater and hot beverage.

My wife and grandchildren would disagree. Give me at least a dozen more years.

:lmao: I don't miss the 90 degree "fall" at all.

October is the calm before the holiday blitzkreig.

Agree

I'm a teacher so I love having the summer months off, but you can't beat October. It's perfect in nearly every way.

On the number 1 things I miss about living in New England it's October.

Always loved it. It's close here in PA but not quite as good as being in Massachusetts in October.

I drive up route 1 every day from Westerly to East Greenwich. If you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about. I can't imagine a more scenic drive at this time of year. It's like a Norman Rockwell painting of Anytown, USA in the fall.

The spring and fall in the North makes up for the winter IMO.

I may not agree with this statement in February.

I have a beautiful drive down Hines Drive in Michigan every day to and from work. It's an extra 10 mins but in the fall it's worth it.

Anyone feel like scouring the "digital photography" thread for some awesome images of fall? Leaves scattered on the ground, pumpkins, hay, etc?

I need a new desktop photo.

Great month for RI and New England in general, I agree. Used to love October.

In the Bay Area, the October weather is pretty awesome but it's not all that different from the rest of the year.

Love October, but you guys need to move somewhere where winter doesn't suck. Either because it stays pretty warm (Florida) or because winter means fun (Colorado, etc).

"Almost winter" is just another plus for October in my book.

Anywhere along the Appalachians or Rockies is nice for a couple days in Oct. But the best place to be is SF.

October would be great if it wasn't for the cold mornings making exercise outdoors a pain in the ### and then the fact that winter is breathing down your neck. If you're not down south or in a ski town, that sucks. Final grade: B-

I want an original FBG digital photo. That's sorta why I mentioned the digital photograph thread. I've seen some amazing work in there.

But OMG.... thank you for letting me know there is a way to search for photos!!!!!
