Is Winslow Jr. a starting FF TE? (1 Viewer)

I just got this guy via free agent and he is my only TE right now. Should I trade for a top TE or will Winslow be a top 12 guy?

P. S. Winslow, please don't respond because we already know how you feel!!!

Well the Browns clearly constructed this offense to run the football, as evidenced by the type of offensive linemen they went after. This team is supposed to run the ball and play defense. So I'm not looking for upside surprises in the passing game.

What scares me about the guy is he hasn't scored a TD since first game of his last college football season 2003. He had 60 catches and over 600 yds but only one TD :o

What is your league's roster size? I can't believe you'd be able to just pick him up via FA. I guess in an 8 to 10 team league with 16 roster spots or less.

I could see 9 maybe 10 but I can't figure out who the other 3 or 4 would be. He's got a ton of upside to at least be the 10th guy off the board imo.

He also had Brock Berlin as his QB who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

KWII will be top 5 this year.
:loco: blind faith in a guy who's played a whopping two NFL games in his career, who's slowed by leg injuries, and didn't look all-world even BEFORE the injuries...he looked very ordinary two years ago in camp and in the two games in which he did play...if you think he's going to be a top 5 TE, does this mean you have him on your roster already , and if not, do you plan to draft him, or trade for him?IMO, he won't catch more than 35 balls in 2006..he's essentially still a rookie, in terms of real live playing time in meaningful (i.e., reg. season)games..

I'd draft Winslow ahead of Troupe. :hophead:

Some of your points are good, and I disagree w/ others. I do not have him on my roster but think that he'll be in the top-10 when all is said and done. I think folks are going to be shocked by how many targets he gets.

Just a hunch?

You mean the TD where he did the Heisman pose after... THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON??? I knew he was a joker at that point. But that doesn't change the fact that he has the talent and the pedigree as well.Actually I don't like him at all as a player, with the attitude and all that stuff, but I needed a TE and I was shocked to see him available as a FA.

OK a long reply is due here...

I've actually went to a few Browns TCs and what I've seen from this guy is not just good it's super human, and I'm not just talking about the one handed catches, I'm talking pancake blocks. The 1 on 1 blocking drills where he and Mcginnest go on for 2 mins after the whistle blows and both the offensive and defensive guys on the sidelines are cheering them both on loud enough that you can't hear the whistle anymore. I also know that Frye, Edwards and KW spent the entire off-season together working on timing and play reads and studying film. I do know that by design he'll line up at both TE and WR this year. I also know that he and Heiden will line up in 2 TE sets and that KWII with Harrison will shift from a single back set to a 5 WR set that will match one of them up against an LB. I know that despite your obviously expert opinion based on the 2 games you saw in the regular season the last 2 years on a team coached by Butch Davis that you know more than me but yet I still say top 5.

BTW... I'm old enough to have seen another TE in Browns TC to compare him to and if I had to pick 1 of them to go with in their prime I'd take KWII.

The other guy is Ozzie Newsome.

:goodposting: the kid has pedigree and talent...not to mention little competition for targets. KWII = value. Top 5 is a stretch though...I agree.
