Isaiah Crowell (2 Viewers)

So 1 35 yd run and a bunch more at 2.0 ypc defines a stud RB now?
Barry Sanders did well with that style. No stud potential until he gets closer to those 25 carries per game though.
So Crowell will be Sanders-esque if he just gets enough workload? Oh, and doesn't keep fumbling.
Not saying he's a must-start stud but "take away the big play" is literally one of the weakest arguments in fantasy football.

Isaiah Crowell took over as the Browns' feature back in Sunday's Week 11 loss to the Texans, rushing 14 times for 61 yards and securing 2-of-4 targets for 30 additional yards.
Perhaps most promisingly, the Browns stuck with Crowell after he lost a second-quarter fumble; ball security has been an issue for the promising rookie in the past. Crowell finished with 16 touches compared to Terrance West's five and Ben Tate's two. The Browns can revert to a "hot-hand" approach at any moment, but Crowell has all along been their best option in the backfield. He will be a flex play with upside when Cleveland takes on Atlanta in Week 12.

Gordon will open up the run game a bit and if Crow gets the most carries, he could have a huge day.

or maybe Tate gets out of the dog house and Crow gets 7 carries.

:loco:

first murray, then lynch, now barry ####### sanders?! are we watching the same player lol. the cult following he has on this board is hilarious, crowell could hand the ball to an opposing linebacker then throw a block for him and someone here would try to rationalize it away lol.

To me he is a dead ringer for Eric Dickerson.

You completely missed the point. Im not saying he is Barry Sanders, just that reading into a tiny sample size of carries and saying that he sucks because he is explosive but had a few short stops is dumb. If you looked at alot of Sanders stat lines you could come to a similar conclusion because he was boom or bust alot too.

He's Barry Freakin Sanders on offense and after he fumbles the ball He's **** Effin Butkis on Defense.

Why in the world would Cleveland go back to Crowell after he fumbled in the second when there are two highly talented backs on the roster?

west has looked good the last two weeks and his reward was getting benched so wtf knows.
Maybe they want the most explosive guy in there. You know, the guy with the highest ypc. If he hadn't had these fumbles, there would be absolutely no discussions about who should get the carries. Why trot out there guys averaging 3.14 and 3.64 ypc when you can get 4.59 out of Crowell.

the team never recovered after his fumble. His blown pass blocking assignment almost got his qb killed. He ran the wrong way on a screen that changed the down and distance from third and manageable to third and 17. I want to re watch the flea flicker, but I think he could have chip blocked that too. If he did, 70 yard td to Rabbit. He didn't so Cushing got another big, clean hit rushing the throw and causing it to be under thrown. Killing another drive.Don't let the box score fool you, he did not have a good game.

agree he has work to do in all those areas. but damn does he look good running the ball at times.

This is much simpler than some people are making it out to be. The Cleveland staff is going with Crowell because he's their best RB...not by a little bit, but by quite a bit.

Crow's raw skill is exceptional. He's a rookie & will improve on the finer points of the game, but they're trusting him more & more, & you can tell he's their guy. They're finally starting to use him as a receiver. Crow can be a difference-maker in that offense.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to quote someone. This situation is so fluid that a week ago West was prime rib and Crowell was chipped beef on toast.

Actually, this regurgitation of internet opinions is starting to get on my nerves... why not just give us your analysis and skip the mindless quotes from Rotoworld, etc.

im just saying (and this was the point of my first post) it was a strange time to make the change since the hot RB has actually been Wes.

Clev seems to be making more lineup decisions based on comments durning practice than anything else. So, next week is very much in flux. Who gets diarrhea of the mouth?

Great post Dropkick. But I will post what I damn well please around here and I couldnt care less how you feel about it. That pretty much sums things up.

i dont own any of these guys but im stuck in cleveland forced to watch this clownshoes team and listen to their fans. i really dont think crowell is all that much better than the west as many ppl in this thread would have you believe. and today he made a ton of mistakes. crowell is pretty good, but so is west. tate looks to be the weakest of the bunch.

Tate is going to get axed come March, probably bring in a veteran that upgrades the passing game.

This may be the last real change of guard at RB absent injury we will see this year. The Browns run more than almost any other team in the league, they're a winning team and they have Gordon coming back. Get a serving now while you can & be thankful.

When asked about his running back rotation following Sunday's loss to the Texans, coach Mike Pettine said, "We're not just going to pick one."
In Week 9, Isaiah Crowell got zero carries while Terrance West led the way with 15. Week 10 saw West pile up 26 carries compared to 12 for Crowell and 10 for Ben Tate. On Sunday, Crowell surprisingly got the nod for 14 totes, seven more than West and Tate combined. "It's something we'll look at week to week," Pettine said. "When you go in a game-plan situation you look at what gives us the best chance to win." More often that not, Crowell is going to be the Browns' best option. Despite a Week 11 fumble (that he was not punished for), he'll be the best bet to carry the mail against the Falcons in Week 12.

I do not own any of the Cleveland RBs and these are my thoughts as well. Crowell and West look decent. Tate looks slow. It seems as though Cleveland is going to split the bulk of the carries between Crowell and West by game. That is strange. Seems like a 50/50 split in most games would make more sense.

Crowell and West should be owned. Tate should not.

Not sure I understand what the front office is saying here. It's not like the Saints or Patriots who have specific roles for third down backs and pass catching backs. Tate looks like the best of the pass blockers, so I could easily see him work if they have a pass heavy game plan. Just don't see the difference in style between Tate and Crow, so I don't get how the game plan matters there.

I'm not biased, since I own all three, but Crow looks like the highest upside to me. In the games I've actually seen, he's the quickest and most powerful. I haven't seen enough of him in pass protection, but if he can't block, he'll struggle to stay on the field.

Well they do have a Shanahan on the payrolls calling the plays.

The ATL matchup with Gordon in the lineup should be juicy for whoever does start. No fumbles Crow!!!! Ranked 32nd vs RBs.

Not sure Crow did enough to lock in another start. I think it will be all about what happens this week in practice. Seems like they pick the guy who has the best practice then try to ride him in the game that week.

Crow is clearly the highest ceiling fantasy football back in this offense. But not necessarily the best NFL RB in this offense. Situation and coaching game plan will obviously keep changing week to week so you can't really rely on any of these guys (for now) until one comes out and dominates with no mistakes. Even then I don't trust this coaching staff to stick with a single back for any length of time.

In FF, I agree. In real life? It makes a hell of a difference.
