It is tough to be a Vikings fan (1 Viewer)

All these guys need to do now is to lose to get a higher draft pick. Instead they beat the dang Eagles and draft day is a little less fun for their fans. I'm sure the QB we would want will go one pick ahead of the Vikes. It is tough to be a Vikes fan. Stupid is/

Made it a little more difficult to be an Eagles fan tonight. You guys got a quality guy in Webb, and owned the Birds tonight. Rough season you guys have had, filled with drama and heartache. But hang your hats on the fact that you just exposed the Eagles' flaws and threw enough kinks in the playoff picture to make it a significant uphill battle in the playoffs for us. I like the Vikings in 2011, centered around a more developed Webb. I think they're foolish not to give him a shot. See how Week 17 goes and all, but tonight was impressive.

Whats the diff? they would just pass when its their turn to pick anyhow. Thats the thing with loser organizations, their ability to fail is perpetual.

If you found your QB tonight that will more than make up for a draft slot or two.

If Frazier got the Vikings to play hard at this point in a disappointing season, it is a great sign for how well he can motivate his players and draw up a successful game plan.

If I was a Vikings fan, I'd feel good after tonight about who you might have as a head coach, especially after years of Childress and Tice behind the helm.

Hoping a panther thread like this pops up next week.
Panthers have clinched the #1 spot no matter what, so they really should play to win if they want to screw over the Falcons.Although I doubt we'll be able to tell the difference on Sunday between whether they played to win or mailed it in.

Said it already, but I like the Vikings as is. I think they just need to figure out the helm at QB. Since it seems like Webb is a potential option, they could use that draft spot wisely if they decide to go with Webb before the draft.

I think this is a bigger win for Frazier than it is Webb. For Frazier to get his team motivated to win on the road against a hot team and create problems for the Eagles offense speaks volumes. I think Frazier and his team were the only ones who thought they could win tonight and they found a way. I don't think this would have happened under Chilly. The other half of this equation is the Eagles just came off of a huge comeback win against the Giants and probably overlooked Joe Webb and the Vikings a little bit. I'm sure Frazier got some great national attention tonight. As for Webb, he brings an element of excitement that Favre lacked this year.

Frazier probably sealed the deal with this win.

Webb not the answer.

Bring in a QB to groom Webb if you want to, but don't turn the reigns over to him. 7-9 staring you in the face if so.

This never gets old. No, really keep posting it every time the Vikings and draft are mentioned in the same post. You!Are!Awesome!!!
It was so pathetic it still has mileage. Like Philly fans booing Santa Claus, only worse because it affected the actual team.
Didn't they get Kevin Williams with that pick? The Vikings are fine, and c'mon: you can't seriously wish for your team to lose games just to secure high draft picks. They came out and beat the #### out of a possible SB contender. Show as much pride as they did.

I think this Philly game just shows what this team could have done with just a modicum of decent quarterbacking and coaching. It is sad in a way. Also the irony that the Vikes have sent Philly to a 1st round playoff game vs the Pack - a game Philly might lose - is interesting. As a Saints fan, I'm loving the prospect of GB winning in Philly and then Atlanta. This fell into place nicely.

:goodposting:

They won and played their best game of the year and Frazier proved he can coach.. and you are upset they moved down one or two slots in the draft? :hophead:

how about rumors that they will start Favre in the last game if he passes physical....why? Give Webb another game of experience and see what you have with him - you cant simulate an NFL start for a young QB....also NFL dragging out any punishment - Favre must have pictures of someone...ooops.

You may be on to something... maybe it was pictures of Goodell that Brett sent to Sterger :coffee:

Not trying to pee on the Frazier hype here, but what happened last week when they clearly mailed it in vs a division rival? He did not have his team ready to face the Bears and they got slaughtered at home and if you watched that game by the middle of the 3rd the Vikings had no fight left in them and clearly didn't care as they kept kicking the ball to Hester.

The Vikings played awesome last night, Webb is probably not ready to be a starting QB but they do have some great players in key positions which will go a long way on making them a playoff contender again next year... unfortunately. I just hate seeing this now Frazier is the answer because he won this game, and I guess last week is just forgotten when his team clearly did not come out to play or maybe they can blame Brett since he did play a few plays.

I can see the starting favre for his last game but if they do I would not be surprised if he played one series, tipped his hat to the crowd and went and sat on the bench.

If I was Favre I'd retire this week before they impose his fine for the texting incident. Few Vikings fans want to see him. Let the fans see if Webb can put together back to back good weeks. As a fan I was impressed with his decision making, his arm(both strength and accuracy) and almost Vick like running ability.

The players clearly had no heart to play in the weather and on that field. It started with Klewe's :D twitter and seemed to affect the whole team. Not to mention that late scratch of AP, then Favre's concussions and it all went to hell( in this case Ice).

I'm very happy with this win; draft slot be damned! You don't want a culture of losing to permeate the organization. Pride and confidence will bode well for next year.

Excellent game by Webb despite nobody believing in him nationally. Nice for him to get a game on tape to help his development.

Love the idea mentioned above of having Favre play a series next week and leave the field with a wave of his helmet.

Too often game planning gets overlooked and the Viking's coaching staff did a great job of it last night in shutting down one of the most potent offenses in the league. Hope Frazier gets the opportuntity at the head coaching gig next year, with fewer distractions (no Favre) and just being able to focus on the game, the Vikings could make some noise even without a stud QB.

NFL teams don't just lose games on purpose to get better draft spots.

I was really happy to see Frazier put together a good solid game, and was impressed how the players responded. And really impressed with how Webb played, being what he is. I know I bagged on him a fair amount the last few weeks, probably a little unfairly if you really think about how much time he has really had to prepare. He still made some mistakes, but give him a full off-season and time with the first squad, and maybe he can be the starter. Hard to really tell at this point though what the Vikings have in him. It would be interesting with him back their along with AP, he'd probably end up with a fair amount of man coverages as people would fear either of them running.

As far as Frazier goes, I really hope he gets a chance to coach next year. I think the first few games he's coached are really been a bit of a learning experience for him, and hopefully he is starting to get it. We'll see against the Lions, two teams that are kinda in the same spot this season, just playing for pride and their future.

What's with the "Webb's not the answer" stuff? Dude's a rookie getting his first shot & looking pretty good.

I like Webb a lot, but I am not ready to see the team hand the reigns over to him next year. The Vikings have a very small window with the roster they have and it got even smaller this year.
