Devil's Advocate
Hey, you never know. If they don't work out, they are only crazy predictions. If they do work out, you look like a genius. ;)

I'll mention one player for each main fantasy position.

QB - Kurt Warner returns to his glory days, and finishes the season as a Top 3 fantasy quarterback. He is currently FBG's 20th ranked QB. Edge should take pressure off the passing game, and you can't go wrong with Boldin & Fitz. Also, with McCown now in Detroit, Warner won't have to look over his shoulder. Navarre stinks, and Green really doesn't want Leinart to play this year. Warner will thrive.

RB - By the end of the season, Cedric Benson will have more fantasy points than Larry Johnson. (I said CRAZY PREDICTIONS, didn't I?) I think Benson will get the starting job, he'll keep the starting job, and he'll run like hell over defenses. The Bears don't have the toughest schedule against the run, either. As far as L.J. goes, I keep getting a weird premonition that he's going to get hurt. Nothing more than that. I have no other reason to doubt him. Current FBG projections have Johnson as the #1 RB and Benson as the #31 RB.

WR - Minnesota's Koren Robinson will finish the season as a Top 5 fantasy receiver. He is currently the 42nd ranked WR by the staff. He has a TON of natural ability, his head is finally screwed on straight, and Johnson will get him the ball. Anyone who has heard Koren being interviewed on Sirius NFL radio can't deny how impressive the kid is. He sounds sincerely contrite for his past mistakes, and he is ready to unleash his talent!

TE - Antonio Gates, currently ranked as FBG's #1 tight end, will struggle with Philip Rivers at QB. He will still finish in the Top 10, but mainly due to the fact that most other TEs are pure crap. I see 7 or 8 tight ends having better numbers than Gates when it's all said and done. Let someone else draft him too highly, and grab Witten or Watson a bit later.

Crazy predictions...

Baltimore and Buffalo will win their respective divisions.

Domanick Davis will play a full 16 games. That's nothing more than just wishful thinking on the part of a Domanick Davis owner.

Michael Vick will be a top-6 fantasy QB this year.

Chris Chambers will not top 1,000 yards receiving. Not because he won't get the targets, but because he'll only have a catch% of 52%.

Ashley Lelie will have 800 yards and 6 TDs receiving... for the Denver Broncos.

Tiki Barber will, for the first time probably since Truman was in office, not outperform his draft position.

Edit: Screw it, this *IS* the crazy prediction thread, so let's combine two of those. Ashley Lelie scores more fantasy points this season than Chris Chambers.

Marion Barber scores more TDs than Tiki Barber
That's not a huge stretch. I can easily see that happenning, especially when J.J. gets dinged up a bit. B.J. will get even more goal line carries to cut into Tiki's production.

Kitna returns to fantasy relevance and makes the top 10.

Reggie Bush gets hurt in the first game and is out all year.

Former Teammate Lendale White is a top-10 solution.

Cardinals boast #1 Defense.

Miami, despite major adds across the board, still sucks. << okay that's not even crazy. :)

The Jets make the playoffs

Reggie Bush totals 2000 yards

Terrell Owens spends at least one night in jail for assaulting Bill Parcells, Jerry Jones, Drew Bledsoe, or Drew Rosenhaus

Michael Vick throws for over 3200 yds and 30 TDs

the Seahawk does not make the playoffs

Michael Turner will lead the league in rushing 2nd half of the season following LT injury

Chad Johnson will be fined exactly twice for post TD celebrations

TO does not blow up and the Cowboys win the SB

I will be right with all my predictions

The San Francisco 49ers win a wildcard playoff berth

WR Chad Jackson wins Rookie of the Year

Marion Barber III wins the NFC rushing title

Terrell Owens keeps his mouth shut and has his best year to date

Drew Bledsoe is a top 3 QB.

Chris Perry steals Rudi J's job by the end of the season.

Andre Johnson becomes a perennial top 10 stud beginning this season.

Itula Mili comes back from an intestinal blockage (ouch) and proves Jerramy Stevens to be a fraud.

Ninjas continue their dominance over pirates, but pirates pull some unmanly tricks and make it ineresting once.

Hines Ward = top 5 WR

ROY = Greg Jennings, who finishes the year as a top 25 WR

Lions = NFC North champs, NFC champs, lose to Jacksonville in the SB

QB: Manning wil break his own TD record by more than 5 TD's.

Alex Smith will get better and finish JUST outside of the top 15

RB: Alexander, Tiki and Lamont Jordan finish OUTSIDE of the top 12.

Dunn and Ruben D finish outside of the top 24!

WR: TJ Houshmandzadeh will finish ahead of Chad Johnson

Toomer and Plexico Burress will finish even in FP

NO WR will catch 100 balls

TE: Gonzo will not finish in the top 10 (Herm Edwards)

Ben Watson will be the number 2 TE

Team: San Fransisco will be going into week 17 and STILL ALIVE for the playoffs

Seattle will not win 8 games

NE Pats win the SB and Brady Retires

Love every pick except the Gates one. I think it was Gates who made Brees into a pro bowler and not vice versa, he will do the same for Rivers. You are right on the money with the other ones. I had those guys on my sleepers list as well, especially Koren. I think a lot of people are fogetting how good this guy really is when he has his head in the game.

There are some great predictions in this thread, i know they are supposed to be crazy but some of them are good predictions....

except the ones about the Lions.....

Craziest predictions thus far....

Wow. Impossible unless he misses 8+ games. He will have almost double the targets of most TEs in the league.
Baltimore and Buffalo will win their respective divisions.
 If I had to pick three teams that wouldn't make the playoffs, the Bills would be one....
The Jets make the playoffs
...the Jets would be one...
The San Francisco 49ers win a wildcard playoff berth
...and the 49ers would be the last.
Michael Vick throws for over 3200 yds and 30 TDs
Maybe in 3 years when he gets a decent WR1.
Ninjas continue their dominance over pirates, but pirates pull some unmanly tricks and make it ineresting once.
Impossible. Ninjas own pirates, now and forever.

QB - Upon bringing his balls to every road game, Alex Smith has a top 10 finish. :boxing:

RB - Kevin Jones will turn into the second coming of Marshall Faulk.

WR - Koren Robinson will match Torry Holt's stats this year.

TE - Vernon Davis will continue to beat people up.

MISC - Parcell's gives Roy Williams the green light to "motivate" TO during practice. :football:

Interesting, here's how I interpret this

QB - Upon bringing his balls to every road game, Alex Smith has a top 10 finish. :boxing: wrong position

RB - Kevin Jones will turn into the second coming of Marshall Faulk. MF circa 2005

WR - Koren Robinson will match Torry Holt's stats this year. Holt injured in camp

TE - Vernon Davis will continue to beat people up. I think you mean Santonio Holmes

MISC - Parcell's gives Roy Williams the green light to "motivate" TO during practice. :football:

Fantasy predictions:

Ernest Wilford will become a top 15 WR :excited:

Marion Barber will be a poor man's LJ (top 5 for the 2nd half in 2006)

DeAngelo Williams will become a top 15 RB

Lee Evans will become a top 10 WR

KWJ, LJ Smith, and Ben Watson will become top 5 TEs

Except for the Ninja's that is not so crazy .

Kevan Barlow finishes the year with 1600 total yards of offense and 12 TD's

Charlie Frye throws 30 TD's

TE Heath Miller overtakes Gates as the # 1 FF TE

1.) Chad Johnson comes out of the closet. (did you see the riverdance? He is very flamboyant)

2.) Randy Moss catches over 20 TDs

3.) Peyton Manning gets hurt

4.) Aaron Brooks is the #1 fantasy QB.

5.) Julius Jones leads the league in rushing.

I have four dark horses on my roster that i like:

a) Kurt Warner: I predict 14 games played with 23 TDs

b) Mewelde Moore: Out of the Meathead's freezer and into the fire. He upsets Chester Taylor; starts 12 games and does decently, 800 rushing 400 receiving and 6 total TD (three on receptions)

c) Koren Robinson: 1,100 hard earned yards but only 5 TDs

d) Matt Jones: 1,000 yards with 8 tds, big catches but inconsistent games

These aren't predictions persay, but cool anomalies that I could see possibly coming to fruition:

QB - Brett Favre throws 40TDs (breaking his personal '96 record of 39) en route to a division title. After Baltimore loses McNair to injury, it is Kyle Boller who orchestrates the 2nd half playoff push and ultimately to the division title.

RB - LenDale White is a top 4 back. Henceforth, the NFL will be known as the "LenDale and Larry Show". Curtis Martin eclipses the 1,200 yard mark in the week 17 game at Oakland. His New Year's resolution he says is to "pass Dickerson in '07".

WR - Despite being on pacec to win the triple crown of receiving, Terrell Owens is stunningly deactivated for weeks 15,16 and 17 as the Parcells, struggling to reach .500, grow tired of his antics. Kassim Osgood, still an unknown on San Diego, emerges to become one of the hottest FA pickups of the season.

TE - Zach Hilton (who?) becomes a dominant fantasy TE. Alex Smith again catches two TDs in the Bucs' opener, while stumbling into the fantasy abyss a few weeks later.

QB: Manning finishes as the #1 fantasy QB. Eli Manning.

RB: Denver does not produce a 1,000 yard rusher.

WR: Matt Jones finished the season as the #5 fantasy WR.

TE: Tony Gonzalez finishes outside of the top 12 fantasy TEs.

K: Adam Viniteri sets records for field goals made as the Colts offense stalls without Edge.

Def: Jacksonville has the #1 fantasy team defense.

QB: Kurt Warner finishes as the #2 fantasy QB.

RB: Denver doesnt have a 1K yard runner for the first time in a LONG time.

WR: Nate Burleson finishes in the top-10 in receiving yards...in the NFC

TE: Heath Miller finishes as the #1 fantasy TE.

DEF: The NYG finish in the top 3 in fantasy points.

- Jake Delhomme is a top 3 QB

- Corey Dillon has more rushing TDs than Tiki or Edge

- Reggie Brown is a top 10 WR

TE: Heath Miller finishes as the #1 fantasy TE.
Second time I've seen this. The kid is talented, but I don't ever think he'll see enough balls as long as Cowher is his coach. Has a Cowher TE ever ranked anywhere near the top of the fantasy heap? Eric Green, maybe?

Michael Vick throws for over 3200 yds and 30 TDs
Maybe over a three year span...
I still think before he retires, Vick will have a 30-40 TD year (Passing + rushing)
I just don't see it. I went to the wall for this guy time after time, but it's just not there. He has a strong arm. Great. That doesn't translate to becoming a good QB. Every year, you hear that a Falcon WR will bust out. You have to take that stuff with a grain of salt. Roddy White is the hot name this year. Thanks.... but I'll pass. Vick will never be a dependable passing QB. He just won't.

Green was the #2 fantasy TE in 1993, Cowher's second year in Pittsburgh.

Youre telling me if Vick had Zona's WRs, or a guy like Owens/Holt that he couldn't be a "good" quarterback?

He doesn't have those guys. He has trash. But to your point, sure.... he'd be "good." I didn't say he'd never be good. I said he'd never be a dependable passer. Even with the WRs you mentioned, he'd put up 300 yards one week, and 125 the next.

Those talented WRs would fare much better with any of 20 other QBs.

:goodposting: It is a statistical impossibility for Gates to be a top 5 TE, let alone #1, with Rivers at QB. I doubt he even makes the top 10....and I am not projecting injury!

New QB with zero experience, so Gates will suffer as Rivers learns the NFL game.Chargers add two vet TE's (Shea and Manumaleuna) so the targets will be substantially reduced.

Gates is middle of the pack, at best, this season.
