Raider Nation
Devil's Advocate
Hey, you never know. If they don't work out, they are only crazy predictions. If they do work out, you look like a genius.
I'll mention one player for each main fantasy position.
QB - Kurt Warner returns to his glory days, and finishes the season as a Top 3 fantasy quarterback. He is currently FBG's 20th ranked QB. Edge should take pressure off the passing game, and you can't go wrong with Boldin & Fitz. Also, with McCown now in Detroit, Warner won't have to look over his shoulder. Navarre stinks, and Green really doesn't want Leinart to play this year. Warner will thrive.
RB - By the end of the season, Cedric Benson will have more fantasy points than Larry Johnson. (I said CRAZY PREDICTIONS, didn't I?) I think Benson will get the starting job, he'll keep the starting job, and he'll run like hell over defenses. The Bears don't have the toughest schedule against the run, either. As far as L.J. goes, I keep getting a weird premonition that he's going to get hurt. Nothing more than that. I have no other reason to doubt him. Current FBG projections have Johnson as the #1 RB and Benson as the #31 RB.
WR - Minnesota's Koren Robinson will finish the season as a Top 5 fantasy receiver. He is currently the 42nd ranked WR by the staff. He has a TON of natural ability, his head is finally screwed on straight, and Johnson will get him the ball. Anyone who has heard Koren being interviewed on Sirius NFL radio can't deny how impressive the kid is. He sounds sincerely contrite for his past mistakes, and he is ready to unleash his talent!
TE - Antonio Gates, currently ranked as FBG's #1 tight end, will struggle with Philip Rivers at QB. He will still finish in the Top 10, but mainly due to the fact that most other TEs are pure crap. I see 7 or 8 tight ends having better numbers than Gates when it's all said and done. Let someone else draft him too highly, and grab Witten or Watson a bit later.
