It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

God bless these people. That episode made me proud to be a fan. :lmao:

Great episode for Emmy week.
ok.. i was thinking the same thing... was the "bar contest" a euphemism for how their show has never won any awards?
Absolutely- Charlie Day was on O&A promoting Pacific Rim. The conversation of course turned to sunny. Day said this was his favorite episode and it was written regarding their lack of awards. He went on quite a bit about it. That was why there was a "laugh track" at the Suds bar. There were lots of references to bad stuff that seems to win awards every year. Funny stuff.

I don't have fxx either. I feel like a poor person. Guess I'll upgrade, then. Ruins my night.
If you have direct tv call them and whine. I got it for free when I threatened to drop there service. Check out the negotiating with direct tv thread for more/better advice.

The bar awards episode was one of the funniest in a long time. Also, loved the line in the last episode "why are you dressed like ebinezer scrooge" as theyre trying to give him pstd while dressed like arabs

Dennis was killing me in this episode. Grabbing the pillow and screaming into it and trying to force Mac to admit that he got his ### kicked were hysterical.

Dennis and Frank were doing some great work in the scene by the vending machine with Dennis laying out all the reasons why Mac is a terrible human being.

on fire as always
i've been in a process of rewatching all the older seasons.. i watch a few episodes a week. Certainly there are some episodes that don't speak to me as much as other, but overall they have sure kept the quality level high over the years.

I think one thing that helps is the lower number of episodes they have to churn out these days to constitute a season vs. what Seinfeld had to do years ago (22-25 episode seasons were common for them... and that's also a component of network tv as well).

Yeah, the consistent quality and longevity is pretty amazing.

It amazes me that this show (which I assume is absolutely dirt cheap to make) can spit out this kind of quality when CBS throws around gobs of money every year to churn out the same regurgitated garbage. (I well I guess it makes sense as that's the goal).

:goodposting:

Dennis and Dee usually don't do much for me, but this episode Dennis had me :lmao:

Thought it was a great episode.

They other night I caught the one where they sneak into a house to find a vase. One of my favorites.

"Mac, I'm going to stop you right there. First of all, your breath smells like an old lady fart passing through an onion.."

Decided to look up Sunny on Wikipedia and found this quote that has me rolling for wahtever reason

During the Season 7 episode The Gang Gets Trapped, a short, angry, monologue by Dennis Reynolds captures the essence of The Gang's modus operandi: "We immediately escalate everything to a ten. ... (S)omebody comes in with some preposterous plan or idea, then all of a sudden everyone's on the gas, nobody's on the brakes, nobody's thinking, everyone's just talking over each other with one idiotic idea after another. Until, finally, we find ourselves in a situation where we've broken into somebody's house - and the homeowner is home."

Great stuff.

I wish Howerton would get some outside opportunities like Day has (there is a sequel to "Horrible Bosses" coming out). He deserves it. He killed it last season.

Yeah, I'm really surprised Day has been the only one to really go to the next level. Maybe the rest don't want to, which I totally respect....but I thought Day did really well in Horrible Bosses

Yeah, not the best episode.

Frank eating hotdogs and Mac's beefcake heaven were the highlights. I kind of liked Charllie's cartoon. Not sure why though.

Also, has it already been confirmed before or was this episode the first confirmation that Dennis' is or will be a serial killer (look on his face when killing the chick).

Oh yea... been a long running gag. I think it started mostly with "the implication" on the Boat ep.... and really went up a notch on the season 6 or 7 finale when they went to the HS reunion and they found his "tools" in the back of his Rover.

I thought last night's ep was funny as hell. It was kind of all about the essence of each character and I enjoy them all so much... it was fun to guess what they'd include for each character and be right (Dennis' bloodlust, Charlie's illiteracy)

I love how that even when they are imagining their perfect world they are still being made fun of. Mac not understanding pun, Dennis having the guys bail on him was the subtle stuff that makes the show worth it.
