It's Official - Verizon FIOS in, DirecTV out (1 Viewer)

My DSL got so bad I actually had to switch to Comcast internet (which is actually pretty fast/good, despite Comcast being the debbil).

Who do I need to pay to get FIOS in my area (Chicagoland)?

I don't think I'll ever get this where I live. Our city regulates the amount of cable companies that are allowed to operate here. Right now that list is one. I know FIOS isn't "cable", but I'm betting the fact they have to dig will nix it plus lobbying from the monopoly cable company to keep them out. I don't use their service, but everyone I've talked to that has it says it's horrible.

As I mentioned prior, I am an authorized FiOS agent. If anyone living in the below locations is interested in FiOS, give me a call. There are some great promotions going on right now that my office can offer, that you may not be able to get through Verizon directly. Call my office - 877-503-7660. Ask for me or leave me a message if I'm not available. Mention you're with Footballguys and I will provide an additional discount. Include your name, address and phone number - specifically your address, so I can check for availability in your area.

FiOS is currently available in the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC

Thanks for the plug.
Hey Jeff, thanks for offering your support, appreciated. I live in zip 08512 in New Jersey. FIOS is available in my area, all around where I live, and has been for at least 2 years now. Problem is I own an apartment in a complex where I'm not sure if we're wired for it or not or what the deal is, but I can't order it when I call/go on the website. Called my association and VZ, never get an answer as to why it's in my neighborhood and not my complex. I have Comcast, and LOATHE Comcast. Shared non-fiber internet is garbage, even though I'm on their "Blast" speed. Capped too, also garbage, not conducive to Netflix/MLB.TV. I get internet and TV. The regular price rates are insanely expensive, and to adjust I have to call just about every month and fight to death to get rates comparable to regular FIOS rates (I did my homework). Want FIOS yesterday.

You seem pretty knowledgeable, so I wanted to reach out and see if there's anything I can do, or basically assume tough luck and suffer with Comcast.

Thanks in advance man.
Send me an email jhaseley@tmg1.net with your home address and I will check it out for you. It could very well not be wired in your complex, despite being surrounded with service in surrounding neighborhoods. Unfair yes, but I have see it before. I can also try to see if I can sign you up as a new customer, so please provide your name as well to see if it my system will allow it. If it does, you're complex is definitely wired for FiOS.
Tell Moorestown to freaking suck it up and let Verizon do there thing. OR tell verizon to stop being greedy. Not really sure who is the holdup :)

Judge Smails, how do you like FIOS? Did you get set up with Phone, Internet and TV? I ask because I am a sales rep for Verizon's FIOS and specifically market for businesses as well as residential. I'm the guy who can compare your existing service and set you up with service, promos, gift cards, etc. (if available in your area). I have DirecTV myself, but only because FIOS is not available in my area....yet.

If anyone has questions about FIOS, please feel free to ask.

Current availability (this does not guarantee service is available in your area though): California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
Do I need some kind of box for every T.V. I have recent purchase HD T.V.s and was hoping I wouldn't need to pay a rental fee for a box for them. Looked on line and to go with a bundle service was $114.00 for extreme package. Add 1 dvr and six basic boxes and I was up to $158.00 add tax and franchise fees and I go to $171.00. Twenty more than my current Brighthouse package.
