Its safe to drop Kevin Kolb (1 Viewer)

why drop him? there's gotta be a mcnabb hater in every league. kolb's value is low now, but just wait and see if mcnabb keeps up his current hot streak. bad game in week 17 against dallas and everyone will be singing a different tune. philly fans jump ship fast.

Give the kid a chance. He's been plugged into games at inopportune times without any preparation.

Let him have an entire training camp running with the 1st team offense.... and then let's see what he can do.

To say he stinks because he's thrown 4 picks in platoon action really isn't fair.

If you dropped Kolb in anything bigger than a 12 teamer... hes going to get picked up due to the fact that many people think McNabb is about done in philly.

Its hard to judge how good he is can be from what we seen... we've seen guy get tossed in games like hes has and play good; then when they get thier chance and they stink. You really need to see a guy get 2 yrs under thier belt before you know they can play.

 Seriously.

I think its too early to give up on him as a long term keeper, but he certainly looks like he doesnt give a crap on the field. His body language and facial expressions are ice-cold, bordering on angry. He really needs to cheer up.

If you had to play behind Winston Justice how happy would you be?

Fair point, I guess. But then how come Donovan doesn't look so bitter?

how can you judge a guy on being tossed into 2 games w/ no Practice time with his WRs?
He has also shown nothing during preseason playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers. I believe in the Reid QB = fantasy relevance mantra, but the guy has looked sub-Feeley out there every single time.

I picked-up Kolb the week before McNabb was benched in a dynasty league that tends to roster more QBs than some of the other dynasty leagues I'm in (Kolb is still available in others, and I have no intentions on picking him up in them). I also have room on my roster in this one league to give him an off-season to see if he can improve. Every league is different. Some have more serviceable QBs on the waiver wire than others. If you have room to possibly wait on Kolb and see what happen with McNabb, and maybe through the 2009 season and into 2010, I don't think it's a bad idea.

Aaron Rodgers did not look very good in his first two years either, and it wasn't until the summer of 2007 that I started to have some hope in him. Kolb could be following a similar path. Only time will tell, but I see 2009 as a make-or-break year for Kolb's future in Philly. He is signed through 2010, and McNabb's contract has voidable years that can drop him down to being signed through 2010 as well.

Traded Kolb to the McNabb owner in the preseason for Brohm and Antonio Bryant. Brohm is a waste of roster space but boy did I hit the jackpot on Bryant.

Kid got thrown to the wolves against Baltimore. Baltimore is tied for the lead in the league in INT's and is one of the best defenses in the league. FYI, do you know who they are tied with at 22 INT's? the CLEVELAND BROWNS. I bet most people didn't know that, I never would have guessed until I looked it up just now.

Because he gets to play with the starters :( & he is bitter...and always the victim.

With the risk of someone screaming BS, I know Kevin personally and have discussed his situation more than once. He is a hometown boy with a good head on his shoulders and is VERY driven and goal oriented. Now I know that everyone says that about a friend in the NFL, and it doesnt always translate into future fantasy success, BUT he does care. That "ice-cold facial expression" is a guy who studies day and night and is waiting eagerly for his opportunity without contributing to the Donovan circus of insecurity, if McNabb felt threatened. Problem is he is forced to run the scout team every week. He doesnt get to throw the ball to DJax, Westy, Curtis, etc.- but does have to throw at the Philly #1 defense. It is much like Aaron Rodgers situation, and if McNabb was to move on and Kevin get a full training camp as the starter and not playing the part of "weekly foe", then I think you will see promising results. The kid is a winner- he just needs a level opportunity. Again, at the risk of being bashed, just my :hifive:

i watched him play at UH, hes a good QB. but i just traded him for devin thomas and a 3.1 .... i think hes going to have success in philly.

I believe it; the people with actual connections to those inside the facility know that the staff loves Kolb...McNabb knows it too; hence the insecurity.
