Kenny Britt has size and speed, can play right away, and has the fanbase excited to finally see a WR picked number one.
Realistically, WR's are a crapshoot. I'm encouraged more by the fact that the team actually chose a WR early. No one can predict whether he'll work out, but they have to start trying to improve their WR's.
Sen'Derrick Marks was an absolute stud his freshman and sophomore years in college. His college coach told scouts not to look at any of his film from the Vandy game on from his Junior year, because he had two high ankle sprains and wasn't himself. He also seems to have a great attitude and the Titans are one of the best teams in the league at developing D-linemen.
Jared Cook was the fastest Tight end. He was originally a WR at South Carolina, but his size moved him to tight end. Not a linebacker in the league will be able to stay with him. Just an impressive physical speciman. Of course the Titans drafted a similar type player a few years back in Ben Troupe, and he could never grasp the offense or the playbook. From the wonderlic scores, Cook seems smarter. We'll see.
Mouton--The cornerback from Hawaii had hamstring issue all throughout the workout season, from the combine through his pro day. In his final pro day, scouts say he was on track to run a mid-4.3 40 time, when he pulled his hamstring through the run and ran a 4.6. He is smallish, but his hamstring injury knocked him down just a bit. He is also an explosive returner and fills a big void on the team.
Javon Ringer--If you're looking for a RB sleeper, take Ringer. He could easily beat out Lendale, who the team is sick of..and he is one injury to Chris Johnson from being Jeff Fisher's primary RB. A meniscus tear caused Ringer to plummet down the rankings, but he was cleared by the Titans. This was a guy who was ranked by many scouts as the top senior RB in college football, then he had a great year, and still fell down in the rankings. He's 5'9, but he weighs 200 pounds and has very impressive strength numbers and has a solid BMI. Goodbye, Lendale.
The only negatives in the draft are the fact that many of the players had slight injury issues. But none of them seem permanent, and it looks to me like one of the best drafts the Titans have had in a long time. The addition of a real backup rb, a potential number 1 WR, and a stretch-the-field TE could really help the Titans offense.
