J Charles hurt ? (1 Viewer)

this is SO freaking weird. I swear I had a dream last night Charles got hurt. I own him in TONS of leagues and woke up freaked out. PLEASE be okay Chuck!!!!

Any time the cart is invoked in regards to a training camp injury, it causes people to fear the worst. But in certain cases, with certain players, the panic might be justified.

According to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles just left the field on a cart after huddling with trainers.

While the Chiefs aren’t going to be a ground-and-pound team as long as Andy Reid’s the coach, Charles’ open-field ability is going to get him plenty of action as a receiver out of the backfield.

And their margin of error this year is so slim that any injury to one of their top players is cause for concern.

Someone tweeted that they saw him trying to walk it off and he had his shoe on and off a few times.

Hopefully it's just a ding or an ankle and not turf toe or the dreaded.

wow.. this could be the game changer

tinfoil hats on

For you fantasy baseball players....Don Mattingly says it isn't serious and will be back soon..

Seriously - in this age of twitter it is almost too much info...I don't want to hear about every time a guy twists his ankle.....maybe its serious and maybe not but the early mass hysteria before any info has reached a level of ridiculousness.

per rotoworld "Jamaal Charles went down with an unknown injury in Monday's practice, and was carted to the locker room. Details are scarce, as the Chiefs are one of the most lightly-covered teams in the NFL. Coach Andy Reid is expected to make a statement after practice. Carts are obviously never a good thing, but there's no reason to panic yet. It could be something as simple as a rolled ankle. Stay tuned." -- http://www.rotoworld.com/sports/nfl/football

Reaches for the vomit bag..

Mother of all creatures great and small, not Charles. He is my chosen one !!(to finish #1 in ppr).

Earlier reports had Charles being "carted" to the locker room, but per beat writer Jason Madson, Charles walked to the cart to "(hop) a ride up the hill to the facility." Coach Andy Reid is expected to make a statement after practice. It could be something as simple as a rolled ankle. Stay tuned.

FYI: Everyone, even those who just have a minor injury, are "carted off" from practice since players must walk up a big hill to the locker room.

Great Info, really not sounding too serious

Jamaal Charles comes up a little gimpy on his right leg after scrimmage play. Stretching it out with trainers #Chiefs

Jamaal Charles is headed to medical tent. Doesn't look serious but we'll see

— Adam Teicher (@adamteicher)

August 12, 2013Jamaal Charles lined up in slot then limps off field. Walking on own power gingerly now

— Doug Stewart (@dougstewart1)

August 12, 2013Jamaal Charles just left the field in a golf cart not sure what that was about, didn't look injured.

— Alan Shope (@AlanKCTV5)

August 12, 2013This is speculation, coach will have answers after practice, but it appears Jamaal Charles rolled his ankle. Will have more soon. #Chiefs

— TJ Carpenter (@TJCarpenterWHB)

August 12, 2013Reports of Jamaal Charles "carted off" this AM. FYI: everyone is "carted off", even cramps. We'll see.

ok, that probably puts an end to his WR duties!

Foot strain for Jamaal Charles, x-rays are negative #Chiefs
I liked the ankle story much better.
Jamaal Charles has been diagnosed with a strained foot after X-rays came back negative.
Charles might still require an MRI, but it appears the Cheifs have dodged a bullet. That being said, we'd expect Charles to miss at least a few days of practice, and to be inactive for Friday's preseason game against the 49ers. Charles has nothing to prove in camp, so the Chiefs will give him all the time he needs to get back to 100 percent, not just "healthy."

He may not be in the clear yet...

Here are tweets from @jenebramel

Again, way too early to jump to Lisfranc conclusion based on foot sprain w/ negative x-ray. Just talking a little shop in response to ??

Some foot injuries may have a normal x-ray. Some foot injuries only reveal themselves when the x-ray is done with weight bearing.

Some Lisfranc injuries are in that category. You won't see the instability in the joint until you do more films. KC med staff know this.

Here are the words you don't want to hear associated w/ Charles in the next 24-72 hours ~ midfoot, specialist, Charlotte, Dr. Anderson

Bremel is saying he is not in the clear yet. Lisfranc injuries can show up negative on xrays.
To be clear, I'm not saying any particular diagnosis is certain or even likely. Just responding to questions as they come. Lots more on my Twitter feed, too much to copy / paste here.

Will have a blog post up when there's a little more information from Kansas City.

as always appreciate your take on things

it's never good when you injure yourself without being hit, so hopefully it was just a rolling of the ankle. anything else, and there is probably more to this story.

But its reported thet he tried to keep practicing, thinking if it was that serious he would of not done that. Guessing its a simple sprain.

Not necessarily true at all. Hope you are right though.

Knile Davis is seen quietly humming the Toby Keith diddy "How Ya Like Me Now" as he walks off the practice field

It's my fault.

I have Maclin, Crabtree, Hernandez, Gronkowski, Charles on my top dynasty league team.

I take full responsibility. Please accept my heartfelt apology.

I don't think that is your top dynasty team anymore, lol.

Got hernandez, Pitta, and harvin on a high stakes team, so I know the feeling. Luckily dealt maclin right before he git hurt.
