J-E-T-S Fans - Fire Mangini & Bench Chad (1 Viewer)

Enough is enough. Woody Johnson stays quiet in the background but he is not patient to a fault as was Leon Hess.

The JETS are a mess.

Boy Wonder, Eric Mangini is a fraud. He hails from the defensive side, yet the JETS defense remains a joke and is getting worse not better. He seems incapable of crafting the talent (Vilma, Robertson, Elliis) to a system (4-3) that will get the best results given their strengths/weaknesses. He stubborningly sits back with the Patriots 3-4 blueprint (without the personnel and ignoring the fact that the Pats use all sorts of different looks) with awful results -- a deadly combo of no QB pressure and a weak run defense. The pathetic lack of ability to tackle demonstrated by Dyson on Plax on the sidelines was downright criminal and indicative of a team in which "hard hitting" is not emphasized.

Chad's ship has sailed. He is a great person, great leader, but his arm is shot. He makes the entire JETS offense so much easier to defend with his inability to throw a NFL-caliber pass more than 20 yards. He can probably carve out a nice career as a veteran, change of pace, backup QB.

While we're at it, take the Accountant turned GM, Mike Tannenbaum with you when you leave Mangini.

Make a hard run in the off season for a Cowher, Schottenheimer type of real NFL coach.

Quite a short memory considering what the team accomplished last year.

I do agree though that Chad may need to sit if he can't turn it around against Philly. I'm a big fan of his, and still think he'll do a better job managing the offense, but he seems to be regressing.

that's the problem with overacheiving in year 1, it masked the lack of personnel the Jets have. The have little talent on offense outside of the wr's. There's a good chance that they have a top 3-4 pick next year.

Jeez.

Talk about "what have you done for me lately".

Talking about Cowher, if you running the Steelers, he would never have lasted 15 seasons there.

Gotta love Jets fans.

Man-genius? Giving up on him so early?

Noodle armed Pennington = Lob Wedge.

Is Fireman Ed still do the J-E-T-S chants? I didn't see him last time I went.

Gotta love Jets fans.
I highly doubt firing Mangini is something a lot of Jet fans are thinking or saying at this point...GB taking one fan's ridiculous comment and labeling "Jet fans" with it....The Jets need a Big ### NT and a Big ### OL.....It's that simple - from day 1, If I'm the GM, and I want to run a 3-4 I sell my soul to get a 3-4 NT and then I continue to build the OL.... They started with Mangold and Brick but, then let the rest fall to pieces... I said in the offseason there was no reason in the world for that OL to deteriorate - They had 3/5 locked up and needed to ADD another piece or two - Instead they lose Kendall. Then there's the question of Chad. Chad could be a decent QB, IF everything else was dominant. It's not. So, they need to see what KC can do and if they need to get a QB next year....

By your own admission, inability to tackle is a core problem. As others note here, there is a personnel talent void that coaching can't immediately fix.

I agree with both assessments of Chad (he's a warrior, but his arm is gone).

Hey - at least you beat the Dolphins - so you have that going for you.

Poor Jets. New England says hello. See you soon.
:goodposting: :hey: look at me, I'm here to incite Jet fans.
It's ok, how quickly they forget that they are the posterboys for Kodak cameras. This thread was made by a hater who loves to make fun of the Jets, well...if only he would have watched yesterdays game, they did that all by themselves.Mangini goes nowhere but that sideline for at least 4 more years....if Herm could find a way to stick around so can he.Chad sadly looks more and more like Vinny with those fluttering passes to the sidelines that either get knocked down or picked for 6. He has 2 weeks left in him to turn it around or I think the Clemens debate stirs up again.

I hate fans who blame the coach when their team sux.....well shoot.....j-e-t-s fans suck!

Mangini don't throw the ball, he don't block, and he dont catch.....

SO WHOS THE PROBLEM???

THE J-E-T-S PLAYERS!!!

You go coach lets see how well ya'll do!

I think Mangini is a fine coach, he just has below average players. You can only do so much. That being said, his (and Tannenbaums) issue with Kendall was a huge mistake and the Jets would be much better (IMO) with him than they are without him.

Gotta love Jets fans.

And when it's time to draft we'll be 1 pick away from some real Good NT.... Possibly Frank Okam - I can see it now.

I like that JETS fans can only dish. Then they get all sensitive.

1. Mangini is too arrogant and thinks he's Belichick. He's not.

2. The Jets are not built to play the 3-4. Not even close.

3. Pennington is from the old system and it's reminiscint of Bledsoe. Let the Jets live or die by Eric's draft pick. Not an earlier regime.

4. I don't think the Jets will finish better than 6-10.

5. Stop being so sensitive and learn to take a little ribbing from your rivals.

6. Look towards 2014 after Coach Belichick retires as a goal to win the division again.

I'm not sure where you're getting the sensitive vibe. We fans are no doubt exasperated at our team, but nothing anyone can say can make it worse than what we've said already. You're only making yourself look foolish in the process.

 :Fixed:I've been in the "Worst Teams in the NFL" thread talking Jets since week 1....If Greenline wants to talk FOOTBALL then bring it on... If he's running for New Tool of the year, he's doing a great job and easily secured my vote.

Good. I was hoping I'd get your vote. "Bring it on." What would you like to discuss buddy?

First off, I am as big a JETS fan as either you or Gang Green, just because I don't have a Chad Fathead poster as my icon or over my bed.I am not looking at wins/losses in Year 2, I am critically looking at the PROCESS. I don't like what I see.Year 2 is much more indicative of what a new coaching/front office is bringing to the table than eeking out 10 wins in what was a fairly soft schedule.Mangini is fair game for criticism as is Tannenbaum, they do not have the Resumes with which to justify a 4 to 5 year honeymoon.#1 The Pete Kendell debacle lays directly on the shoulders of both Mangini/Tannenbaum as it is clear that their offensive line and in particular their run blocking is worse without him.#2 First round trade up mulligans are fine for experienced front offices -- the 30something brain trust of the JETS appears to have whiffed with Da Brick -- Ferguson. He looks weak, lacking the physicality that a franchise LT should possess.#3 They need to do the right thing NOW at the QB position. #4 I do put lack of fundamental tackling skills and effort on the backs of the coaching staff. The JETS are a "soft team", very similar to the mid section of Mangini. They have just lost 2 winnable games. They are going in the wrong direction.

Why did they lose Kendall?

He was claiming they had a handshake agreement for a million dollar raise?

I've also heard that he was the player rep for the team and he had a big mouth.

Why did he leave?

The year before, the Jets didn't want to keep Kendall - They were rebuilding the OL and wanted a fresh start with fresh voices- Mawae was let go and then Kendall was basically told he'd be let go..Then at the last minute, The Jets presented him with a Teamn favorable contract and said take it or see what else you can get... Kendall and his agent Signed the deal... And while the Jets didn't love Kendall they at least knew they locked up a Vet for a while and had no problems and had a good piece to help the young guys and build the OL...The following offseason, OL money Sky rockets and the market changes...Now all of a sudden Kendal claimes there was an under the table deal for more money. The Jets feel Blindsided and feel like they can't redo a contract after 1 year since they have a line of players that could get right behind him and set a real bad precident..... It makes no sense in the world for the Jets to have told Pete about more money under the table, and Pete and his agent NOT to get it in the contract....The Jets hold strong and hope Kendall will be professional and just play out the Contract HE SIGNED...Well, no go - He's got the press in his pocket and they make it look like Kendall actually gave money back and is the victim in all this.... While the media pretends they don't know the difference between NFL Non-Guaranteed money and a Signing Bonus whcih Pete collected on his new dealKendall saw a market rise in OL salaries and decided to Point a Gun at their heads and use the media for leverage........And it worked.... Pete walked away with over FIVE MILLION DOLLARS Last year with that Bonus and salary - The Bonus was supposed to be spread over years but, Pete and his agent found a way tpo STEAL it. IS PETE KENDALL A FIVE MILLION DOLLAR GUARD?????????Pete Kendall is 100% Grade A TURD.. That's why they let him go in ARZ as well...A TEAM PLAYER honors his contract and once his deal is done concentrates on the Super Bowl and Improving the TEAM not angles to Steal money.

He left because management - whatever he thought - does not renegotiate contracts in mid stride. If they had done that with Kendall, they would have opened the door to multiple vets who woudl have said 'what about me?'It was a bad situation and they gambled they could get by now and avoid having to do deal with antsy vets holding out for more cash.Right or wrong, that's how it laid out, IIRC.Kendall is a huge loss for that line and I think most Jets fans could have called it. The defence is far worse than I expected though.

As a huge Jet fan here are my observations

Coaching - MAngini has lost his edge - he played very aggressive last year - now he kicks on 4th and inches and adopted the herman dink and dunk offense. He is also showing that he is too stubborn in sticking with his sinking QB and staying with a 3-4 Def that the team is just not suited for at this time. Also - you spend all this money and a pick for T Jones and you run him 12 times a game in close games the past 2 weeks - WHY? You know he is a power back that needs 25 carries to wear down a defense - look at what happened when he ran it 20+ vs Miami?

Chad - the time has come to see what the kid can do - Chads arm has gotten so weak that in order for him to make a good play everyhting has to be perfect - he has no margin for error and he has been making dumb plays that he never would have made in his prime. You cant be a cerebral QB that relies on smarts and make so many dumb passes

Def - not suited for the 3-4 - either get the huge NT or move to the 4-3 already.

Looks like one of those years - I am not giving up on Mangini but he has to show that spark that he had last year - the Jet ship be sinking and only by making some bold moves will he have a shot - go iwth KC and move back to the 4-3 IMO.

At least D'Brick hasbeen solid with MAngold so the OL should be decent with some additions next year.

Anyone know off hand what the Jets gave up to move up in Round 1 to snag Revis?
Reaper? I thought you wanted me to talk about FOOTBALL with you? Can you field this question?
Think it was a late 2nd rd pick and a 2nd day oickGave up their 3rd to move up in the 2nd for HarrisRevis will be fine - growing pains for a young CB
Yeah, I like Revis. I was just wondering what the trade was.

Didn't they give RG Brandon Moore giving him $1 mill more this year even though he had 3 years left on his original deal? I guess it depends on who you listen to in these discussions but players hold up teams all the time and teams cut players when it suits them, it's all part of the game. At the end of the day though I think this team is better with Kendall than without.
