The article says he was arrested for the fight (disorderly) but then mentions the magistrate tacked on a contempt of court. What is that part about? Did Arrington do something or is this something else?

I got to spend some time in a NC jail for contempt of court.......and I was just there to bail out a friend of mine that got a DWI......I found out I do not know the LAW

Cause they are rich and young? We are a few years away from fans demanding that their favorite teams' top draft picks are sequestered in monasteries, with nothing to eat but vitamin supplements.
I think they are just a little bit more publicized. If you compared these guys to a similar (non-famous) group of guys from the same basic walks of life, in the same age range, I think you'd find that the NFL players are actually in a lot less trouble then their peers, as a group.

Says Chris Henry's spokesman. Never mind the excuses and double talk. There is a serious problem with arrests and violence associated with NFL players. Goodell needs to kick some players out of the league for good to get the message across. He should start with Pacman and Henry.

Why? These arrests aren't really ruining my enjoyment on Sundays, I still tune in every week. Is the NFL losing fans?

Good points on comparing the arrest rate for NFL players vs. general population. There are what, like nearly 2000 active NFL players, of which maybe 5-10 have been in trouble in the last couple years? That is a rate of 0.5%. I can't say how that compares to the general population of 21 - 30 year olds but it doesn't sound terrible. And most of the time, these guys are arrested for pretty minor stuff like public intox, resisting arrest, etc. It's not like he shot his limo driver in the face and killed him...
Seriously, people just need to calm down. Every population has a few bad apples. Stop acting like the only thing on the news is NFL players getting arrested.

I'm not so sure that Hightower had much to worry about from JJ and JJ probably knows that. Maybe he was drowning his sorrows when this happened?
