Have you ever met someone and asked them where they are from. After they told you, you then thought to yourself "Wow, I didn't think anyone actually lived there."

I don't think I have thought that. I think that would mostly depend on your demographic and the demographics of people you're most likely to be talking with and the size and location of the city.

Yeah, they're still around. Have not eaten there in probably 12 years. Here's their menu. Pretty sure I skirted death a few times dining on the broccoli-cheese bread bowls, but I don't see it on the menu (disclosure: old man eyesight).

Sweet! Oh, I would LOVE one of those up here. Those loaded potatoes were sooooo good. That just isn't a "thing" out here.

Also, I'm not a huge honey mustard guy, but their honey mustard was sensational.

The New Orleans area finally got a few McAllisters in the mid-2010s. What we really need is a Bop’s Custard down here. The closest one to N.O. is an hour away from the city.
